Normally launch at Pittsburg then make our way up to discovery bay

I would push to go, went for the first time last year and it was a blast. Watch all the big boats haul the mail by Antioch bridge then went and checked out the delta then went back to where everyone met up

got a few decent videos of the big guys. Pretty good event this year, seemed like a lot more boats in the fast group than the previous year.

We ended up exploring more of the delta rather than hanging out at windmill looking at the boats.

A few of my jalopy, was running or attempting to run with some of the bigger boys after they were done with the actual poker run and I think just a fun run. Seems like they run about 90ish in the smaller Areas then get to more open water I would assume they open it up.

Ended up going to Franks tract to watch them go passed us intiatlly? Not sure what the area was called too many damn names it was passed the Antioch bridge maybe 5 miles.

Then after they blasted by we went up to windmill cove. Found a nice little beach area and anchored. Watched them all come back then up to garlic bros for lunch

After garlic bros we went over to Tower Park for a couple “refreshments”. Place is pretty cool and the ac was blasted so that was a plus. Might take the MH up there with the boat for a weekend seemed like a nice park.

Bill, Kevin and Rufus were busy poaching the “big cat” poker run…I was stricken with trailer tire issues and didn’t make it.
As I heard it, a 38’ Skater was blasting the San Joaquin at 120 mph…. Bill went to the right and Rufus went to the left of the Skater at 130 mph and they both went around the big noise box…

They have a slow group and fast group, there was either a eliminator or nordic deck out with the fast guys. I’d say as long as you can consistently run 60 mph no reason you couldn’t go in fast group. The only limiting factor would be the water and how rough it gets. It’s a poker run so you don’t have to be front of the pack to win.
