I will post some pictures tomorrow of the boats

But today I got the ever loving shit kicked of me. Windy and super rough.

NWS put up a small craft advisory today and they
were not kidding.

I have seen rough on Havasu and thats not even close to what happened today.

If it repeats tomorrow I am gonna tap out

Where is the Advil?

I don’t want to dissuade anyone from coming to the Delta. The Delta has plenty of smooth water ways even on windy days.

We had to go west towards the bay yesterday. Into the wide and windy bay section. It was only rough near the bay. We should have avoided just that section yesterday.

The rough section can easily be avoided.

After we came back into the delta, it was smooth as glass.

We had a great run. The weather was perfect on Saturday. It was great seeing all the boats and people out again having fun.

My boat ran great. I was able to keep up a good pace unlike prior years.. Instead of getting passed by everyone in the run I only got passed by the big dogs. That is kind of the deal of the whole run so it’s all good. Lol.

I think the run is something like 100 miles from start to finish. I always enjoy the long run to Pittsburg and back to Stockton. The long runs allow you to really stretch yore legs out and let her run. The weather was perfect for that on Saturday. I could have probably ran a little faster but I like to keep a good lookout for Delta Destroyers.

There was one huge three story Delta Destroyer yacht that was on the gas on full ass plow putting out what looked like a friggen tidal wave. When I noticed it I just stopped. Thank god I did because that was the biggest swell I have ever seen. Sometimes it is so much easier stopping for those swells and my back thanks me now too.

Stopping is key.... I had my gal on throttles once in my first ride [23' Caravelle Interceptor] a very low profile mini go fast we'd take to Catalina. I was up in bow rider while she drove up behind a 50' sport fisher ... she hung back in his mid wake a while, got bored and turned right and throttled up to go around him and we launched into air and stuffed throwing a ton of water up over bow into me and my buds faces/ chests and over frigging windshield! Scary but good learning session for her... patience bitchezzzzzz

The size of the wakes are hard to judge since we are moving so fast we come up on them quickly from far away. So we have to make a decision early. They wakes can vary by the size and speed of the boat.

When I decided to stop the boat, it coasted for what seemed like an eternity after I pulled the sticks back.

The guy next to me on the fountain said he hit so hard it broke his shitter. Biggest hit he has ever taken.

It’s funny. We usually just jump the wakes. We decided before the Saturday run not to jump big wakes cuz our backs hurt from the prior day. Now I think I will skip it entirely

I ran across the same Destroyer on my way to Windmill Saturday..... holy shit those rollers were borderline ocean size waves. I did the same as you, just flat out stopped and ride them out....
