Like many of you, I grew up on Eddie Murphy movies so of course I'd give this one a try. I set my expectations low as I would with any remake that uses an original cast, 40 years later. Man, we ended up really liking it! The music, the comedy, the slapstick chase scenes- it did not disappoint. If you're looking for something light to watch while you hide from the heat today- give it a shot.

I'll have to give it a try.

I think Trading Places was my favorite Eddie Murphy movie.

We watched it last night, better than I expected not as good as the first 3 but not bad.
Finished just before power went out. Got generator set up in time for power to be restored.

His kids must be older. They can now hear cuss words and shit. 😅😅
Remember when when he went all daddy figure.
Banned all his stand up stuff he had the rights to.
😜🙄🙄🤦

I forgot a couple laugh emojis.
But it’s pretty Fn hypocritical that it’s ok again.
Enjoyed the first two BHCs.

We watched, I figured my wife would pull the plug in the first few minutes but she sat through it. It’s about what you’d expect it to be. Good entertainment on a 120 degree day with nothing going on.

Good movie.
BTW Speaking of streaming:
We subscribe to Apple+ and in spite of the subscription charge, they charge additional for movies like Murder Company. So we've canceled.

It was okay, not Murphy’s best work, but other than voicing over for Donkey in Shrek, Murphy hasn’t really done much. These characters are 40 years older and Taggert is old, his hair looked overly fake, they could have done a better job on his makeup. I’ll say I’d rate it about the same as a the remake of Road House.

Watching it now on the magic box.
Just started.
Murphy looks good for 63 yo.
(He’s a few months older than me)

Side note: I miss Charlie Murphy. He was just such a naturally funny guy.

I just happened to watch Bevery Hills Cop 2 about a week ago and then we stumbled accross this one. It was entertaining and they followed the silly scenes in the old movies. It was a good one

I got bored and turned it off.
Maybe I’ll finish it tonight.

I thought it was meh, didn't watch the whole thing.
I work in the biz and these streaming companies that are producing their own features have not been as profitable as they had hoped which is why you are seeing subscription price increases and the introduction of advertising like network TV has. Their production budgets are shrinking and the end product suffers from that.
This is also why we had the two strikes last year, the streaming business model was screwing those in the biz that rely on the traditional residuals that they were used to.
I was disappointed with the Coming to America sequel so I think I was biased against this one, maybe I'll start it over from the beginning after I get a few Cadillac Margi's in me 😏

Adapt or die.
Pay tv is out.
We are the consumers who see all those ads.
We are the target audience.
The advertisers pay, then we are supposed to also pay to be the target?
No thanks.
Been a full year and DTV sent another solicitation just today for a full package at $69 a month and all premiums free for 3 months.
A year ago when I dropped them after 24 years, I was paying $196 a month for a full package with zero movie channels.
Now… how can they offer me a better package than I had at 1/3 the price?
Because they are already paid at the other end.

I'm (sorta) watching in now. It's actually just background noise.

Definitely not keeping my attention.
