2009 F250. Yeah, its got the 6.4, but except for crappy milage its been good and only 88k. Only stranded once when the diesel gelled at -16f in Colorado. Great road trip truck.

My "forever" truck. 2008 LTZ 2500 Z71, 201K miles, DPF delete & tune, just ordered a 6" CST lift for it. Pulling off the bed and will run a flat bed and custom camper. Used for towing boat and other trailers but will primarily be my "overland exploring" rig.

I have this '99 1500 as my run around ranch truck. In really good shape with 120K on it.

2003 7.3, 190,000 miles, bought new, bone stock, rides rough, only gets 14mpg, nothing fancy inside or out, but love this truck. It's been across country and all over the western US and never left me stranded. I've thought about selling once or twice, but never do it. Probably keep it till they take my license away.

Nothing you said was accurate. But it’s ok. We can still be friends
I know, I’m just messing with you. Depends on how it’s configured, so many different variations over the years. But in current military form with Armor, I’m not far off...it’s replacement the JLTV is badass though

2016 GMC Denali HD Duramax 4x4. My daily driver in a sea of Prius, Chevy Volts and Tesla’s. About 53,000 miles already. Been an amazing truck. Have a set of Sota wheels in order. They take forever to get. Will level it out and get some Toyos.

2008 Chevy 2500 LTZ. Fully loaded, Duramax/Allison, 135k miles, 4” exhaust, EFILIVE tuner- 550hp/900ft lb tq. This thing will tow a house, and walk away from just about anything on the street at a light, at 19mpg. Paid cash for it, super comfortable and safe for the long trips with the family. For me... beat truck in the world.

This is a real truck. Bunch of mall cruisers for men who carry their wives purses is all I’ve seen in this thread
I bet the gun is useless;):p:D

Had this in the army and had fun going to lakes with. Does your hammy float?;)
Trivia , who knows what the two headlights with black lenses are for?

View attachment 717344 The threads on new trucks got me thinking...

I have the best Truck in World.. Why, because I bought it used about 10 years ago, paid for in cash, its never let me down, it gets 21MPG, it a towing mfucker...

Its a 2002 GMC 2500 Diesel 4x4 Long Bed.. 195,000 miles or more.. Its the best truck in the world in my opinion.. why, cause its mine, and takes care of business... Ohhh and the seats are like sitting in a Lazy Boy... new trucks seats are not as comfortable...

Lets see your best truck... not the one you found on the internet... the one that takes care of you and your family.

BTW, this pic is an older one.. sold that boat awhile back. Loaded down for camping trip

I have told numerous people that the 01-07 GM trucks/SUV's were the best vehicles on the road.

THAT SAID...I have a '16 F150 with the 2.7 EcoBoost. IMO this engine is the wave of the future. It makes peak torque at 2500 rpm and feels like a mini diesel driving around town. I don't think I have ever had it above 4000rpm and the average fuel mileage after 5000 miles is 19.4 mpg. I'm a little disappointed in the GVWR vs curb weight but the next one will be a 3.5 Eco with more GVWR. Rides like a dream, HUGE back seat, massive sunroof and a console shfter!!

My 06 Duramax was best truck I have owned. I did not add the comments VeeDriven did and picture popped up on every truck page.

Ford was great first few years. Chevy sold for 10k over blue book the Ford 10k under. My F450 was worse truck to own.

Now there is no 1 perfect truck for me. 1500 2500 and 3500 depending.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would still be driving this 18 years later. This 2001 F350 Dually with 312K miles just keeps on working and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Besides a Transmission and a busted fuel line this truck has been flawless. It’s probably going to get new front end components, Springs/shocks and new steering box this summer and should be good for another 312K. :D It’s by far the Worlds Greatest Truck, and I will never ever sell it!

Best so far 97 F-Superduty, work truck, 330,000 trouble free miles when I "upgraded" to 6.uh oh in 04. Biggest mistake I ever made. 2nd best,my 99 F-350, 7.3. Just hit 200K right at the 62/177 stop sign on the way back from Havasu a couple weeks ago. Nothing but routine maintenance.

Infared for night vision
Bingo. I worked at a factory in Budapest where we built the infra red night vision equipment for the USSR, among other optical devices. The reflector had a 200W halogen bulb behind the IR filter. The receiver that was attached to the commander's helmet ran on a battery and the unit had 25.000 volts to power the ray cathode tube that gave a rather grainy image. Since Hungary was a satellite country of CCCP, all the equipment we made, we had to engrave Made in USSR on everything. Those fuckers never made anything of quality themselves. :p:D
They relied on the iron curtain blocks! Their only major product that had world wide recognition back then was, the 7.62 Kalashnikov that I had as standard issue while I served. I actually liked that rifle for target shooting, it was very accurate up to 500-600 feet.:)
Since my older brother was ex airforce in the 50's, who joined the revolutionaries during the 1956 uprise, me working on military equipment , I could never been able to go outside of the country to visit any western country. I escaped through Yugoslavia and jumping the border at Koper to Italy.Good times and great memories.:)

I made the mistake of checking out a 2018 F350 FX4 Lariat at my local CarMax. Damn it's nice and huge with a $65K price tag. The truck is truly a work of beauty and would tow what I currently have with out issue BUT, what scares me about the FORDS is the need to lift the body for engine repair.

I had a brand new F-350 King Ranch. When it was about 3 or 4 months old they needed to pull the engine for a minor oil leak. I said NO F&CKING WAY ARE YOU PULLING THE CAB OFF MY BRAND NEW TRUCK!!!! I don't want some rattle trap afterwards. They pulled then cab and there was NOT ONE creak, squeak, or rattle the whole time I owned the truck.

This is the one I wish I still had...but it started $1K me to death, the tranny sucked for towing, and it rode like a covered wagon (I didn't mind, but the ole lady did). 97 F-350 - 7.3L. No smog, had an Edge Evolution tuner, down pipe, exhaust, and air box. It ran pretty good.

Love my 17 alumiduty. Not a forever truck. Most likely buy a new one every 5-7 years though. It’s insane how comfortable and powerful it is.

IMG_0065.jpg

03 excursion has the 6.0 diesel. Paid 7k for it and it only has 130k miles. I’ll never get rid of this. It is absolutely the best vehicle for road trips. Especially with a wife kids and 2 big dogs. Plan is to solid axle swap it with a 05+ superduty axle. I’ll never sell it.

I'm pretty happy with my recent purchase. 2018 F-150 with a v 5liter. I've got a small block Chevy in the bed and I'm towing a 29 foot enclosed snowmobile trailer. :)
