Wife and I will be doing a quick staycation in that area in a couple weeks for our anniversary.

Any suggestions? Planing a great dinner and then hitting some local breweries since we both enjoy that.

X2 on the ranch. Bourbon steak at the monarch beach resort is excellent as well. There is always maestros

Not necessarily a steak house but the chefs counter at Napa rose at Disney's grand Californian hotel is top notch call for availability. the Hobbit in orange as well. Both are anniversary worthy unique experience. Full tasting menus with wine pairing.

The ranch and old brea chop house are great. I know this is a little far, but Owens Bistro in chino is excellent. Very limited seating and they don’t rush you at all.

I’ve had 2 great steaks at Fleming near downtown Disney. I know it’s not unique but damn they were good

The Winery in Newport is very nice, especially if you can reserve an outdoor table facing the boat docks! Cigar friendly, so is their location in Tustin. We used to love hanging on their cigar patio eating steaks and feeling like kings.

You said BEST.

Some of these options given here im at a loss for words.

You want the BEST goto

1. Mastros - Costa Mesa the original Mastros
2. The Winery - either Location

By best im talking food....not the location...not the view.....the BEST food.

Mortons by the convention center.
Everything is great, the pepper steak I had a while back was superb.
Stayed next to there many times.

Never been to that Morton's, but last time I checked, it seemed like the Ruth's Chris was the better one. They are pretty much next to each other.

North OC is my neck of the woods. Mastros is an obvious choice for the South. Steakhouses don't impress me much from the Mortons/Ruth's Chris/Flemings kind of way. I think Stubriks in Fullerton is on par in terms of food for cheaper, not as glamorous as a building. Breweries are quite common up here, some quite award winning.

Bootleggers
Chapman Crafted
Breuery
Golden Road, etc

If you are looking for nice restaurant with a good view in North OC, The Summit House is decent. Food doesn't blow you away, but prime rib and the like in a nice restaurant with a really nice view.

Orange Hill is a great view, but I really don't like the direction the food went and won't be back for anything besides dessert and drinks at a fire pit.

a customer of mine used to own The Bungalow not sure if they still do. but that place was pretty cool and great food aas well
If you don't mind paying 5 bucks for bread when you pay 125 pp to eat a good dinner, go to Mastros. Place is overrated IMHO.
overrated because of price or overrated on food? its expensive no doubt but I have yet to have a better meal anywhere in America.

It’s the only steakhouse that tried sitting us inside their circus tent when COVID restrictions were in place for Xmas Eve dinner. So there’s 2 things, i don’t pay 125 to sit in a tent and eat a steak nor would i pay 5 bucks for bread. If I want to go out for a good steak dinner, I’ll wait until I get back to the Scottsdale area. We used to frequent Mastros at South Coast every couple months for years because we thought it was the best.

cheese bread and salad!! Steak is hit or miss for me
We get the filet rare and it’s pretty consistent. The salads and cheese bread are fantastic! I misread the best steak house part but NWI is a cool destination with the north west theme.

Anaheim / Orange area are loaded with breweries. These are the ones I like the most in Orange and Anaheim:

Everywhere Beer

Bottle Logic

Green Cheek

Monkish

In the area of Bottle Logic there are a number of breweries within a short distance, same with Monkish Anaheim.

Monkish is in an area of Anaheim called the Platinum Triangle. Its not far from the Disney resort area and there is a Morton's in that area.
