I live close to El Cajon. Route through Glamis to 8 is the fastest route. Az 95 down to Yuma to 8 is easiest…takes about 25 minutes longer though.

I used to travel to there from havasu for a few months straight for a big construction project.
I always took the 95 all the way to, and through quartzsite and all the way into yuma. Then took the 8 all the way into San Diego. Easy route with never any traffic. Minimal stop and go BS.

You will have the Mountain Pass from desert floor (Ocotillo) to Jacumba and a few others here and there to Pine Valley, but shouldn’t be an issue. Tons of mohos travel that section year round

95 south, right turn out of parker to Indian 1, aka Mohave Rd. Take south towards Ehrenburg. West on the 10, a couple miles then get off on 78, aka Neighbor's Blvd, take that 78 down past Glamis, south on 115, right on Even Hewes Parkway, south on 111, West on 8.

You can do this in under 4.5 hours if you hustle.

The hill on 8 West from the desert up the hill is indeed a climb. It is wide and two lanes wide all the way.

8 then through Glamis, 10 to Ehrenburg, up to Parker and the 95 to Havasu.

You telling me the route to Havasu? Lol

Isn’t that what they were asking for? Reverse it if you’re in Havasu going to SanDiego. This is a better description.

Yeah, I see now! Yes, that was a way better description. From OP original question, seemed he wanted general directions, not turn by turn, my bad! Lol

Thanks guys, the only one I didn’t think about was strait through quartzite to yuma to the 8, I’m doing this one, looks like it’s a straight shot. I don’t like the road to glamis from the 10, narrow and curves, and idiots crossing over. I’ll take the extra 25 minutes. I’ll give the V10 a Workout going west up the hills out of ocatillo.
