My wife and I love boating in Havasu. We bought our first boat a few years ago, a Yamaha 212ss 21ft twin engine jet boat. I like it because, it was cheap, does 53mph, good mileage, awesome transom and swim deck, turns on a dime and thought two engines would be better than one. Turns out that the boat feels like a guppy in a sea of big fish in lake Havasu, we don't have any other point of reference but we suspect the boat really has a punishing ride on the big water of the lake when we see deck boats pass us by. My wife increasingly hates it when it's rough and is starting to only want to go out for short trips on the boat due to the punishment her girls go through when the boat slams around on the rough water. We are ready to move on from the Yamaha, but not really sure what would be better. I want a boat that cruises a lot faster (hot rod), good for beaching, good for swimming and boarding from in the water, 2-5 passengers max, and a way smoother ride so my wife is happy.

The questions I want to ask the experienced membership here is:

1. Do other boats ride better on Lake Havasu and would prevent large natural breasts from bouncing around excessively on Lake Havasu on a rough Saturday afternoon? If so, what is the best boob friendly type boat that we should be looking for?

2. Are big boobs and comfortable boating just mutually exclusive?

3. What is the best way to evaluate other types of boats for ride and performance on lake Havasu before we decide to purchase something else? Is there any places to rent different types of quality boats? We went to the Havasu boat show last month hoping to get some rides but that was a strike out, we asked Conquest, Nordic and Howard for rides but they were not offering...kinda sucked since we drove out to the show just for that purpose. (RDP booth did give us beers, so all is good!)

The more experienced peeps with bigger boats will be along soon I'm guessing you will need a 25 or bigger as I believe that is when the V angle changes.

I'll take ya out on my Hallett and I promise you won't spill a beer... but when we get to the beach it's all about swimming because I got the in between one without the door in the front.. So WTF? Either way it's a good time on the lake.

I'll take you in my 21 and it rides as smooth as a silk worm, but when you see the price tag you'd rather buy the 27 Hallett.. LOL

Look for a V hull rig with an entry angle of 24 degrees -

This is the tried and true "big water" wave cutting entry angle.

The boat size to boob bounce ratio is a very critical factor when choosing your new ride. The simple rule is: Do not purchase a boat that takes out all of the bounce! Boob bounce is a critical part of your boating enjoyment. Hope that this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. Is this because of the V angle? Do V bottoms ride better then cats?

Here we go. Depends on a number factors and variables. Getting into a larger boat will help you in Havasu on Saturdays. Alternatively you could go on off days with less boat traffic.

If this isn't a baited post, I don't know what is. :)

Most important question is not pics but video so we can adjust for bounce factor verse
degree of angle to soften but not eliminate said bounce :D

welcome to the zoo

Budget
is first hand
with todays used market being red hot you are limited as well as huge selection
i have a 26v bottom and it eats up the Mohave basin (it gets nasty) with slight bounce factor but no
discomfort ;)

Is this thread serious?

You dont have to look far to get a better ride than that 21 Yam. I had one when we first bought our river house and kept it for 2 trips and sold it. Honestly for the price-to-quality ratio they are really cheaply made and thats being nice. My 2004 21 Chaparral rode 100x better.

Performance boaters don't usually choose between a Cat and V-hull because of their wife's endowment. That's how you may choose a wife not a boat. :).

It sounds like you have some other boating parameters to consider to get it narrowed down, then select ride quality. Good luck

For Havasu you want something that's at least 23'-24' if you don't want to get tossed around a little.
Something with some freeboard and trim tabs would be nice.
Shockwave, Eliminator, Howard, Hallett, Nordic, Ultra, Essex etc. are all good riding custom boats.

In all seriousness.
I'd go into Nordic or Eliminator and check out the Deep V hulls above 22 ft.
22ft is the magic number where ride quality starts to seriously improve.

Those Yamahas really display nicely on the showroom floor.
The look and family appeal is terrific
But one has to really research closer with them.
Especially their wake/surf/ski specific models.
Every one of them has a mulligan of some sort.
Easy resell though so you're off to a good start.
Now is the time to strike.

Not a performance boat but one of the best rides out there along with highest quality production boats is a Cobalt. There is a reason they completely dominate lake Tahoe. That is one of the roughest lakes around...... Being a mass produced boat, even in a hot market like now, there are many options available new and used.

Just remember all the boats driving around you, look smoother than you.

Yeah probably one of the best made factory boat type deals.

Girlfriend has the same issues, the bass boat she wont touch after 10am, i have a 27' formula with 24* deadrise, that with the full cabin with a sink and toilet makes for a lady friendly ride. 50mph with a little tab and it will take anything havasu can throw at it

My boat is for sale and would give you a silky smooth ride on the lake. It also has a huge cabin so you can massage those breasts in comfort and privacy.:p

Have you tried trimming them down?

Sometimes trimming the tabs down will smooth out the ride
