Thinking about replacing the original saddle tanks on a 77 spectra 20' with a belly tank. Anyone have pictures of this type of fuel tank, where the fill(s) are located and the vent and pickup. Thanks for any help.

This is a good question! I am looking for options also being my 74 is in need of some new tanks.

I thought the belly tank might be the quickest way to get it fixed?

How does this affect the way the boat handles at high speed?

Though not the exact answer you're looking for, our 21' Howard (same boat as the 20 Spectra) has the two fuel tanks located under the floorboards between the first and second stringer and the third and fourth stringers. This keeps the center free for ski storage and bilge water.

Cheers, Mark

77 Spectra 20 jets came with motor box.
You will need full lenght stringers for belly tank.

74's came with four full lenght stringers and a center bulkhead.
You could do the belly tank or 2 tanks between the outside stringers.

Thanks,

Brent
