Saw it at IMAX yesterday with my wife and daughter. We all enjoyed it. Lots of music from their first 2 albums, booming sound. Jimmy, John Paul and Robert all came across as very likable guys, even humble. Page, especially, as a musical genius. Bonham (RIP) was a beast on drums, never fully appreciated that.

It was a nice follow up to the Bob Dylan flick and got that nasty taste out of our mouths from that pathetic SB Halftime show 😁

My wife and I went on Monday, also at an IMAX theater. I doubt there were even 15 people there for a movie that will only show 4 times in total.
I am a big autobiography kinda fan, and a HUGE music fan, but never much of a Zep fan. At 64 they were the music of my youth, but for me they got better only late in their trajectory. Time has proven (for me) that all four members are some of the very most talented musicians that have lived individually.. As a band, they just never spoke to me live Sabbath, Priest, or BOC did. Lyrics were always weak.
The movie did do a pretty good job of pulling together the people and events that were the band's early influences and motivations. They admitted they had little recorded of John Bonham, which was a shame, but seeing the other 3 just radiating love for him when hearing his voice was incredible. The film shows how the four individuals came together despite advice from others along the way. It also brought in a bit, how important Peter Grant was to their early success too.
It felt a bit long and "talky" but it is because the writers kept the film so very tightly focused on just the band, and just the early years. They didn't even mention Plant's son's death, or Bonzo's either really. But for me, it was a wonderful conversation with 3 men who understand what they have done, and they are very humble about it. It would be so cool if an interview like this could be done with other "greats" before they are gone.
IMO Robert Plant is singing as good now as ever. We've seen him twice with Allison Kraus and those two together is lightning in a bottle.

I'm also a big documentary fan and look forward to it. I saw an excellent one on Pink Floyd a year or two ago that I highly recommend, just can't remember the name.

Saw Song Remains The Same a million times back in high school. Played alongside Rocky Horror Picture Show at the same Theater. I remember seeing all the cross dressers in the parking lot as we went in all lit up with our long hair at midnight. You would hear people knocking over beer bottles in the theater and hearing them roll all the way down under the seats clanking away. Good times

Going tonight to see it.

Saw them twice back in the day, '75 and '77.

First time I wasn't 21 yet, that was in Long Beach, and you could take food into the Arena but no liquids. I came up with a killer idea to get some booze inside. I took some oranges and made a small slice through the peel with an exacto knife, squeezed as much juice out as I could. Then I got a hypodermic needle from my mom's friend who was a nurse, filled it with vodka and then filled the orange. Sealed the little incision with super glue. Took forever to do 8 oranges but worked great.

Didn't really need them though from all the weed smoke in the air.

Went to a midnight showing I think I was 16 and they had people on stage acting out the movie, had no idea they would get naked, high fun for a 16yo.

If you're a Zep fan and get a chance to see Led Zepagain, take it.

Saw them Saturday down at the Coach House and they rocked it as always. 👍

They are really good. Saw Doors cover band Wild Child a bunch of times. On stage at The Whiskey A GOGO was off the hook. Probably the best cover band

There’s no IMax in Parker but I can’t wait to check it out when I can stream it.

Iron Maiden Flight 666 is a good watch also that hasn’t been mentioned.

There is no need to see this in the IMAX format. What little concert footage there is, isn't very compelling. Plant and Jones had not found their full confidence yet.
It is not Song Remains the Same.

… There is a documentary that was just released today on Hulu… About Sly Stone… of Sly And The Family Stone… it is really really well done… I remember being at a concert where Sly and the family Stone were on the bill… But honestly can’t remember whether it was one of his infamous no-shows or wheather the band actually played… I may have actually seen them more than once…. Can’t really remember…. That was a very long time ago…. Hard to believe, but Sylvester Stewart… aka…Sly Stone is still alive👍
