Are they in vogue? They seem to be. I must be the last guy that shaves every day.

Seems to be most hipsters, fat people, ugly people, bald people and hillbillies have beards now. Didn’t used to be that way.

No offense of course.

There’s two kinds of people in the world, Frogman.
Those that grow beards.
And women.

It used to be a running joke that I had a 3 o'clock shadow cause my beard grow so quick. Now it's really nice not shaving everyday. I had a long beard at one point, but that wasn't very classy so it's been trimmed up short and neat for a while now. Although I don't trim it every day so it get a bit wild eventually.

Seriously?
I resemble most of those traits you list above :)
Hopefully not hipster and definitely not bald.....

Out here there are two types of bearded under 50 groups, veterans from middle-east campaigns and dork knob hippies.
I am neither. Been clean shaven since 98, then I had a long goatie/spike and a shaved head.

Not to mention, never know when you'll have to strap on a gas mask and go to work...

I shaved every day for 20 plus years for work. Even Saturdays and Sundays. Now I shave every three weeks to a month. I don't like beards and I hate when I can feel my mustache touches my bottom lip but I also hate shaving.

Not cool. Just lazy.

What does in vogue mean?

Is this what happens when someone gets influenced, cause they have no mind of their own? 🤔😜

I’ve had either a goatee or a full beard since getting out of high school. The beard didn’t last long. The goatee has been 30 years now.

I felt like I just had to do something to look different from my dad and brother (both not rocking any facial hair).

I usually shave everyday, I had a monster handlebar stache when my first son was born and I have another son coming in June so I started growing another stache a few weeks back

I shave every other day. My beard comes in too white and makes me look much older then 52. Clean shaven and short hair. I can pass for 40.

Keep a trimmed beard, I can't stand it when it gets long and wake up with crazy beard hair.

Can't have a shaved face at all, I don't want to look 12. Started growing a goatee right out of HS and have kept facial hair since.

Gonna be 40 this year and my beard is already mostly gray.

I grew out my beard after I got out of bootcamp and initial training. Had it until I was assigned to the Coast Guard's Boating Safety program, as it was a heavy public contact and PR position. Grew it back as soon as I was transferred to a new assignment (1981). In '86, I was on a ship, based out of Hawaii, and we were out on an Alaska Patrol, when a new Coast Guard Commandant took over the service. His first official message to the fleet stated that as of June 1st, 1986 beards would be banned throughout the service, except for covert assignments and medical reasons. We all thought it was bogus, as it was a "tradition" for Radiomen to make up dummy messages as a joke to those of us at sea. But it was legit.

My son, born in '81, had never seen me without a beard. When we got back from deployment, he pulled away from me when I went to greet them on the dock. He didn't recognize me, and took several days to believe that I was really his Dad. Kept it off until I retired from the Sheriff's Office in 2015 (except for vacations and short term stuff). Grew it back (along with my hair) then. Although I didn't have the beard for 30 years and fuller, longer beards are kinda the vogue right now, I still keep it relatively short and trimmed. Can't stand it all wild and shit. Probably force of habit.

Every winter I say I'm gonna go full ZZ Top. Every spring I trim it back. Maybe I'm lazy, maybe I'm a quitter. 🤔

I've had a beerd and I've had long hair. Turns out to be more maintenance and a nuisance. I shave every 2 - 3 days and go in for a high skin fade on a regular basis. I like the less to no hair lifestyle.

Pops had a beard for a vast majority of my life. He went from a union BA to the field again at 50yo. Walked into the living room clean shaven...I was 14...scared the hell out of me! Never seen him without a beard, he looked 20 years younger! Even Mom was in shock.

"I always tell the young apprentices that if they need work, to look like they're serious and ready. Clean cut, responsible look. I need to be that guy now."

He was back on the sites running a kettle or hot mopping at 50. Grew his beard back the next year, and had it until he passed at 64.

I keep trying to grow a beard every November and I can’t get past about day five when it’s just too itchy.

I classify mustaches and goatees differently from full beards. Agree?

My hairline started slightly receding in my 30's, so I began shaving my head. Ironically the receding stopped so I have the Jack Nicholson hairline but no helicopter landing pad on top. I still shave the head 1x per week because it just makes life simple. Now I'm just another old bald white guy with a goatee rockin' the jorts.

Manscaped once voluntarily and walked around for a month scratching my balls nonstop. Never again.

I’ve been working on my ZZ Top beard for the last 3 years and it won’t grow any longer than just above my boobs. I planned on keeping it until my son’s fiancée pointed an old guy with a long beard and said that he looks like he could be my brother. I don’t think I look that old, but I guess having a gray beard does give that impression. My wife says when I wear my hat backwards with my wrap around sunglasses I give the off a badass look. But I have decided to shave it way back to a goatee like I had for the last 25 years. I hope I’ve got some jawline left.
