Driving around in Bullhead today, saw this and had to flip a U-turn and check it out. One of the less delightful areas in town, or I’d have gotten out and looked closer.
Looked to be about 27-30’ and full tunnel with a small center sponson, that was only about the last 4-6’. Regardless was a real interesting sight.

Saw one of those in San Luis Obispo that would take it out on Naci from time to time. It was pretty beat but had a 225 Merc hanging off the back. I thought with some cleaning up and bigger power OB the thing might be pretty cool. Looked like 28 to 30 feet would be my guess.

Believe it or not they are actually a GREAT BOAT! They handle rough water well, and don't really have any terrible characteristics to them.. I know a couple people that have had them over the years including one of my old neighbors in the keys. I believe @941Punk has one in Florida right now as well, he'd be a good source of information.

Yeah, I absolutely love my '96 2659 Rendezvous. I've replaced the 175 with a 200, redid all the interior, and put in 2400 watts of Kenny Chesney singing about island time. It seats 13 and you can get in one on the cheap. If you can get over the fact that you will be doing 30mph instead 60-70, then you'll will be happy.

Say what you want about Bayliner , but their designers and engineers follow that rule to a T
This boat is almost 20 years old. Look at the functionality of that boat. Front and rear boarding ladders. Snap I. Carpets over a non skid fiberglass floor. Sink and ice chest storage. Built in swim step. Fishing pole holders. Cup holders all over the place. Dock cleats. A shitter. A stereo placed in front of the driver. Coffee table inserts in the floor. A big ole biminy that you can stand up and walk under. Interior lights.
Built in ski pole. A snap boat cover. Fish finder.
Seating for days. Every inch of that boat is functional. Storage compArtments in every available crevasse and open area. Anchor locker. Built in born. Running lights. Pressure water system. Two person drivers seat. Galvanized trailer and bottom paint. Guide posts for those tipsy loading late Afternoons

Plus that baby blue and tan is so far past ugly that it's Fricken COOL !! ,-)

A friends parents have one in parker. They dont take it out much. Has o 175hp Force OB on it. Kinda beat but runs good and sits tons of people. The gunnel wells are super deep. Tons of storage. They are heavy boats.

When i saw it i had some stupid thoughts, made me think of some Roy time i had. Take one and redo it to make a semi modern low budget Center Console with a 300 or 350 would be fun.

Bayliner only rated these boats @ 175hp, mostly because the maximum horsepower motor they offered back then was a Force 175, lol. I reinforced the stern and mounted a new 250 4 Stroke on ours a couple years back and it's been turnkey ever since. The most it's ever done on gps is 42 mph, lol. You could mount a 450R Merc on it but it's still not going to break any speed records, lol. (Guessing probably 60ish) These boats were built heavy duty af and weigh around 4500 lbs dry. We like it because we can put all the kids on it and pull a skier, tubes, wakeboards, or pretty much anything you can throw behind it. It's got a full fiberglass floor and drains so I don't care if the anyone or the dog brings in sand or spills a drinks in it. You can just hose it out at the end of the day and call it good. We use to have a high dollar boat that I would OCD about every little thing which gets old stressing about after a while! It's a good cheap boat that does what we need to do in Havasu, and I don't worry anymore if it gets a dock scar or somebodies using the wrong sunscreen, lol. Been looking for a GoFast Jetboat to play around with in Parker when the kids aren't around . That's where I grew up to love the river and my addiction to speed

1988-92. It was offered as a fiberglass alternative to Aluminum pontoons.

I would agree with that. The bow end of sponsons are shaped differently than a traditional catamaran sponson. They’re kind of like mini V-Hulls in the front of the sponson. They then transition about 1/3 of the way from the bow into what you see on the rear of all cats. It does make the boats handle choppy water pretty well though. It’s not a lifting hull though as the bottom is flat between the sponsons all the way to the stern. So it’s kind of a Frankenstein, it’s 1/2 Pontoon and 1/2 Catamaran. I’ve taken this thru 3’-4’ chop and I didn’t need a kidney belt. Yore probably not doing that in a traditional cat, lol

Once explained to me, due to the size of the company, Bayliner likely has one of the best engineering/design staffs in the country. My first hand experience at that time with Bayliner was operating a 30+ ft v hull Bayliner for an offshore photo shoot. The boat was crazy fast with a very questionable snap roll. Not at all comfortable. Didn’t care for it.

I would rock one in a heartbeat. I have had a few boats and can honestly say my favorite was also the least valuable. I maintain everything meticulously but when a kid or dog jumps on board sandy or dripping I liked not caring or worrying.
My perfect balance would be my dream boat for me and my wife without guests or kids and my other (I don't like the term beater) boat. This would be a perfect other boat.

My buddy and I bought new boats at the 1990 LA Boat show.
He bought the Rendevous for 12K w/ trailer out the door.
It had a 5 cylinder , 150 HP Force 2 stroke … you has to mix the gas and oil yourself.
That boat was heavy but pretty much held up.
The upholstery was thin so he covered the seats with towels.
We had young kids then and the main thing was we had so much fun with our inexpensive starter boats.
So to see that boat on RDP 31 years later made me remember the fun we had tubing , kneeboarding and talking back and forth on CB’s traveling from OC to Lake Mead.
