Ive always been hesitant to leave my boat on a charger/mainaner while in storage. Do most folks here leave there boat pluged in? Whats a good chager/maintainer that has great technology that wont burn my boat down as well as others.

I use a little solar deal on my dads motorhome….works fine.

I don’t even disconnect the battery in my boat over winter…it fires up fine the next year: If the battery needs maintaining, you have a draw…fix it or disconnect it when you’re not using it.

Noco chargers, they self regulate and shut off when necessary. Never had a problem with them over 7 years on both cars and boats. They also make a badass slim jump pack

I have 11 trickle chargers going in my garage 24/7. They are connected to my boat, Harley, sports car, two on my truck, trailer battery, etc. No problems and no dead batterys.

Never had a problem with battery tenders. Been using them for years on the bikes. The boat has a Pro Mariner system with a While not in use) screw top water tight 30 amp connection on the outside of the upper port gunnel. Just powered it up for the first time this weekend. Hopping for the best.

At Havasu and at home, my numerous Battery Tenders have been operating problem free for years.
Since my goal is only to maintain and not charge my batteries, they only require enough milli-amp hours to replace the miniscule amount lost daily to self-discharge and any parasitic electronics idling in an 'Aware' state.
To mitigate the possibility of a charger or battery failure resulting in overheating, I have mine controlled by inexpensive, plug-in, external timers that allow a charging period of about an hour a day.
That's considerably more than sufficient to replace any loss while providing an inexpensive safety factor with most of these being left unattended for lengthy periods.

I really like the Victron battery chargers which have float and maintain options. They are also programmable which is super helpful if you have Lithium batteries you want to maintain at certain voltages.

Never used a trickle charger, never had a battery problem and this was in the garage in Parker. I always topped off 100% before leaving. Longest time away was maybe 6 weeks. Always had quality batteries in the boat and jeep.

For a week once a month I'll trickle charge batteries that are not being used. I don't like having a trickle charger hooked up 24/7 indefinitely. I get worried about a fire.

Leave the boat plugged in all winter long. Noco Genius 5x3. Waterproof, hidden in the engine bay with a 72 inch 3 prong lead to plug in. Works great.

My RV and motorcycle are on a battery maintainer in storage but I never liked the idea of having constant power to them so I put in timer and the chargers are only active for two hrs a day. That’s more than enough to take care of any little electric vampires.

Another vote for Noco products. I use them on all my vehicles. I have a Noco 3 bank charger on my boat which is hooked up to each of my 3 batteries individually.

I keep my boat on a 4 port Battery Tender whenever I leave it at Havasu, It's on a timer that runs 2 hours at night. I feel safer that way than 24-7, not sure if it is though. The boat is in Havasu most of the year, just bring it home for repairs.

Battery Tender and put it on a Christmas light timer so it only runs for 15-30 minutes a day.
