Sounds like a good retirement gig.
i have always said if ever win the lottery i would go back to work there. i would work the opening shift a few days a week for something to do and the perks. the people were also very cool. all around the same age and same interests. we would get off work and go fish or hunt together on the weekends.

I had to make a visit while I was in Charleston, SC this weekend. Pretty neat store!

you sure that’s a lady - ahhh Female? ….

All true but watchout if there is no messicans around and don't drive anything custom. Only teslas are allowed. I've probably had 30+ IPD tickets over 20 years if you include fix-it-tickets when I was younger. Everything from no mudflaps on a lifted truck to doing doughnuts at Del Taco when I was 16. Shit, at least 10 tint tickets alone, a bunch of exhaust and no front plate tickets and a handfull of cell phone tickets. 70% from sneaky moto cops.
I tried to flirt my way out of this speeding ticket with a FEMALE IPD moto officer, it didn’t work. They all have laser speed guns so radar detectors don’t work until it’s too late View attachment 1340280

I imagine they have the same problem as Turners when i worked there. almost 20 years ago. the manager was real upfront, the pay is SHIT (min. wage) but the perks are worth it to some, anything in the store we payed cost +10%, we fished for free on any boat out of Daveys locker in newport, free range time at Firing line and Rahagues and we got to work with like minded people. the store had about 18 guys total, i can imagine finding enough people to work a bass pro with some knowledge in that area would be really tough.
My friends wife worked at a Turners just for the discounts….

They had great ammo discounts and special buys & she bought a lot more than what her paycheck was….

Well if Walmart cant make a go there then I don't know what chance Bass Pro has?

We love that Costco but instead travel south to San Juan Costco where the people are not self centered pieces of dog shit who cant park a car.
Walmart opens up several stores in a location and when they get customers in their habit and have wound the local competition down, then they close a few of those stores. Simi Valley a good example.

Interesting. Predatorial is an understatement.

Went earlier today with Pops around 11:30 . . . tons of people.
Big store . . . tons of inventory . . . for only being open a couple days, the employees were doing a good job all things considered.
Probably gonna be a mad house this weekend being the 1st one since opening, plus spring break.

Side note - Back at my truck when we were leaving, I took off my jacket and must've dropped my wallet out of the pocket.
Pops takes a while to get situated, then we slowly pull out of the parking spot.
I'm probably 5-6 spots away rolling slowly when I hear, "Hello Sir"?!?!?!? . . . I look back and the person walks up and asks if my name is . . . (mispronounced). . . . then I say Yes, he holds up my wallet and pulls out my license & asks DOB . . . I answer and he hands it over with a smile . . . WOW . . . that would never happen in a Walmart / Target / Costco / Trader Joes parking lot !!!!
Young dude, looked former, or current military . . . he wouldn't accept any money, . . . solid. 🇺🇲

Divorce attorneys and conservatives are happy to hear that!

Been delayed several times. 140,000 square feet. Now some time in late march. I'm thinking they can't find people to work that know about anything they sell.

Camping. Shooting. Boats. Fishing. So much other scary outdoor stuff...
Went today on the way home overlanding in St. George, Ut. It was packed. Irvine LEO directing traffic.

You live in St. George?

No, went to do some wheeling' and some dry camping. Went out to Whitmore Canyon Overlook. Awesome view, now I'm not afraid of heights but standing on that ledge looking over a 3,000 foot drop gave me a little heebie jeebies.

I went on Wednesday and it took over 3 1/2 hours to buy a shotgun. All the employees that talked to me said they didn't receive proper training and the computer systems were having problems. I had to come back on Friday to get my receipt figured out. In the end they made it right. I just hope there aren't any problems with the paperwork.

My wife asked yesterday if we should go. She said it was the perfect inside thing to do since it was raining.
I just laughed. We will check it out in a month or two.

I like the one in Vegas. It's a few minutes from our campsite:
Love the place.

The specials can offer some serious discounts.
Expensive, quality unique backpacks the wife likes can be 50% off.

Wife & Grandma takes the dog heads upstairs and buys her pistol ammunition.
Most always half dozen or more women up there buying ammo too.

Wife also collects brass in the desert and my dad & her reload the big stuff.

I head to the bar and Mermaid tank:
