Did a turn and burn to where they bake the fields today to pick up a dressor for one of my kids. Picked her up and on the road as the sun first started warming up the sky.

I’ve been there many times in the past.
Grandparents, aunts etc used to live there.
Bakersfield...
Is not my cup of tea😂

However.
There is a little jewel hidden there.

I took no pics of the food, I was busy.

If you are the type that likes biscuits and gravy?
On a 0-10 scale

I’d rate the gravey a solid 7, maybe a soft 8
The biscuits
They go to 11👍
The bacon kicked ass too.
The daughter had the sausage patties with hers, said she thinks they made them as their size and shape wasn’t a uniformed shape or thickness.

Too bad it’s about 170 miles away, I want to check out their lunch! Apparently only open till 2pm
So if you find yourself on Hwy 99 at breakfast or lunch time, this place will not disappoint.👍

I can't believe no one has mentioned Wool Growers. Love me some Basque food.
I’ve been going there since the early seventies.
Between drag and circle boat races and the March Meet and CHRR it was a family tradition that I carried on with my family and crew.
I’ve had well over a 100 fantastic meals there.
When we raced the dragster at Fomoso, we could never make it on a Saturday night, so we’d go Thursday after we got our pit set up.
If you’ve never been, it’s a must go if you’re in town!

last time I was out that way we were dove hunting in popular ca, this was 40 years ago, I will always remember it as the doves were so thick I shot one with my gun around my back(trick shot lol) and my stepdad who had family living there shot one and caught it in his hand on the way down before hitting ground.
