Goddamn. Luckily it looks like they had people there who knew what they were doing. Tourniquets. Even if improvised. May have saved his life.

Whenever you guys talk Baja, bikes or racing it reminds me of a favorite story.
Larry’s cousin used to race.
He and his dad went to pre run the 1000 course. Didn’t take tricked out trucks, trailers or have helo for help. It was old school back in the day.
They left Riverside on their bikes with their gear on their backs. They rode there, ran the course and rode back on their bikes. Rode til they were tired and slept on the ground. Woke up one morning and realized they were either in or next to the dump.
He actually won Baja in 4 different decades.
