Booking our vacation next year. Staying 2 weeks in the Bahamas June30-July14 for our 27th Anniversary. :)
Starting out with a week in Freeport at our timeshare trade at The Marlin at Taino Beach.

Looking at taking Pinder's Ferry from McLean's Town to Crown Haven and cab/bus down to Treasure Cay Resort & Marina

Love to hear from people that have done this. Is the transportation reliable?
I'd hate to miss my return flight cause the cabbie or captain doesn't show up.

Please describe "miss your return flight".

Because it doesn't make sense to me.

Why would you be worried about not being able to leave?

I'm flying round trip LAX to Freeport.
We will take the ferry boat from Freeport to Crown Haven, Abaco and need a ride 47 miles to the resort at Treasure Cay.
We will stay a week and on the way back we need to catch a cab back to the ferry over to Freeport on the same day we fly home.

I cant afford more than 2 weeks in paradise unfortunately
Thinking maybe I come back a day early and stay our last night in Freeport just in case.

Abaco and Treasure Cay are some of the greatest islands in the world....I flew there with my buddy and his son and my son and island hopped in a private plane all over the Bahamas.

I love Abaco. Great boating and snorkeling and scuba....we had a beach front condo on Abaco and loved it. Take the professional dive boats out....they know the best places to go.

Have fun!!

Get to Lubbers Cay (across from Tilloo Cay) and have smoked fish dip at Cracker P's.

Ran a 15' Whaler and 26' center console all over and loved the place.

Our flight back to Ft. Lauderdale left 20 minutes early if you can believe that. If we weren't there early, we would've missed it...

Just got confirmation for condo week1 in Freeport through RCI :)
Waiting to hear back about what my options are with week 2 with a different timeshare.

Treasure Cay is one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet.

Thanks, I will have to check out as many Cays as I can.
Thinking of renting a Whaler for a couple days to explore. Weather depending of course.

Did it back in the late 90s on our 55' Sea Ray. Best boating trip of my life. We were in Marsh Harbor, Spanish Cay, Treasure Cay and a few islands that had absolutely nothing but palm trees and sand on them.

You can see at least 40' down in crystal clear water. I always thought we were going to hit a reef it was that clear. The sea life is plentiful. Saw numerous sharks, massive sting rays, barracuda, and caught a ton of grouper and snapper.

Never went back for no reason other than getting to FL was always a chore, boat sold back in 2005.

You're now worrying about what-ifs too?;):p:D
Things do happen there in "island time" but everything we experienced there was timely.

Hit up Valentine Harbor on the outer banks - you'll see some great yachts and the pink sand beaches are epic.

Thanks, I think we will have to rent a boat for a few days since the condo comes with a slip.
Fishing license is included with boat reg there.

I will have to explore Green turtle Cay also. :)
