Not good. Guessing they meet a sandbar. Hope everyone is ok. I don't risk the East side of the buoys anymore. To sketchy over there.

Yes, I'd speculate from the looks of the location East of the marked buoy passage that they hit a sandbar. Unfortunately this isn't a isolated incident.

I was sitting in my front yard and saw the lights from the boats. I was hoping it wasn't a terrible situation. Hope everyone is okay.

If this is the accident from yesterday my buddy had to respond to it. He said the couple in it were very lucky as they flew out of the boat and were swimming when he arrived. I guess so guy that rented a jetski cut this boat off when the boat was doing around 70 mph and the driver and to make a quick turn to miss the jetski the boat flipped several times throwing the couple out. They were very luckyto be swimming when my buddy arrived.

I have both boats and jetskis, how on earth can you be so stupid as to believe you are safe turning willy nilly without even looking , muchless paying attention to what is going on around you! I like to go and be crazy on my xp , but only when no other boats are in the vicinity, or even earshot and I'm still always looking, to make sure no one is close.

Damn. Any lake lice that cut in front of a boat doing 70 should be treated like a speed bump. I wouldn't risk my life and that of my passengers for an idiot.

Yup. Treated like a deer on a road. Just speed up.

Glad everyone is ok.

According to maritime laws you would most likely be found at fault.. And if you had a beer God help you.

Jet ski operators especially ones that are renting should have to take a course or watch DMV style videos showing crashes involving boats...

They should have an age limit also or maybe they do...

This guy who rented a jet ski up in Lake Tahoe rammed into this beautiful Catamaran and tore a huge hole in it...

And mind you it was buoyed...

Another moron came between me and our boat while I was skiing. I landed right next to the guy .

Guess he didnt see me skiing and wanted to jump the wake...

That's fine, let me be at fault. "He darted out. I didn't see him." Not sure how anyone could prove otherwise.
At least my Wife and Kids will be dry and injury free. And I don't drink, so no worries there.

Did this Jetskier stop after the incident? Not saying there wasn't one, just seems like a few peeps every year have a problem in this exact area.

According to this guy in a "boat safety class" he was court ordered to attend, he was facing 3-5 years in jail, cause a jet skier (family member riding a jet ski) cut him off as he hit the throttle to full speed, boat went up, by the the time he came down to see around him it was to late. The jet skier had cut him off and lost his life. MURDER CHARGES FOR OTHERS STUPIDITY

Happened to me yesterday coming back from steamboat. Jackass kids turn made a heart right in front of me as I was doing about 75. Shit thing is, they knew where I was as they had looked back at me several times.

Hope everyone here is safe

If it was a V bottom and not a cat, wonder if the outcome would be different.

Particularly on Holiday weekends the lake is full of many "clueless" PWCs. There are times when these idiots cut in front of you. There's not much you can do when running at higher speeds. How long (time & distance) does it take for your boat to come to a stop from WOT, without backing down (going into reverse)? Slowing down and or stopping for these idiots is, sometimes, all you can do. The future alternative could be a "35 mph speed limit". Which would we prefer? The ocassional slow down and or stop, or a friggin' speed limit ?

That's terrible it makes me rethink holiday weekends when there is twice as many people. Glad they're okay, and I hope that shitbag seadoo renter stopped to help if that's what really happened. He should be held accountable and whatever insurance they purchased upon rental should be liable for all damages.

Anybody else on here use cameras on their boats? Before I sold mine to go back to school I was always attaching the gopro with a suction cup mount to the boat. I was then doing it just for fun. Now it seems like its a good idea for liability issues. I also have automatic on/off cameras in both our vehicles and always use the gopro when I ride the Harley.

It's pretty simple for me ...

If you come up behind a jet ski assume they are idiots and slow down - as much as needed to be sure they don't do something stupid in front of you.

Then after you make eye contact - slowly and carefully pass with care.

Then mash the throttle and leave them safely behind in your wake[emoji1360]

Then mother fuck them to everybody onboard the rest of the run to pirates [emoji12]

This is spot on and exactly how to handle these fucktards. Slow down and approach the lice slow barely above their speed and give them a chance to hopefully see you. Then mash it to pass them fast at a distance where if they were to turn and do something dumb you would be outfront.
