Need recommendations for a good baby monitor. Mom is 79 years old and just had back surgery last week. She is getting better, but still needs help with some things, or at least someone there as a safety. My daughter has been an angel and staying with her for 2 weeks. We bought a monitor with 2 cameras, a monitor cell phone app and 2 way audio - It sucked! Volume at the monitor was so low that my daughter did not hear her calling to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night a few times.

Need recommendations for a good model that has good audio , video and volume. Need the volume to be at least decent.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a Nest camera would be a better option than a monitor?

You always have your phone with you, right?

Yes we always have our phones. But having the monitor screen always on is more effective. Especially when we are sleeping because we can just look over at it if we hear something.
Plus I have a nephew and a neice that will both be getting married within a year. I will probably just give it to whover has a kid first since mom will be better by then. 👍

Get a ring door bell (battery powered) and leave it on the nightstand. It will be connected to the her phone and will definitely be loud enough, 2 way mic/speaker, all she has to do is ring it

Just in case you don't know...

I can pull the Nest front doorbell up, on my Google Home device, and/or my phone.

Audio goes both ways.

Just throwing ideas out there!

I like this! We were talking about getting a chime or some thing for her. I will look into this.

Am I the only one that read the first couple of sentences of the OP and had the WTF look on my face? 🤪

I’m 12 years removed from baby monitors so I’m rather sure there have been mucho improvements since then.

Joe I definitely don’t know. I am a techno dumbass.
Thanks for the info. Will check it out. 👍🏾

First let me say...

This is a Five year old vid!! The good news is it covers the basics, so you can learn from here.

If you have any questions, call me. 👍🏼

We have Nanit monitors for both of our young kids bedrooms. It’s all on your phone app, no separate monitor. It’s is plenty loud and notifies you if there is sound or motion in the room. And if you want to just leave the sound on and not be staring at your app you can, kinda like when you listen to music but you are doing other things on your phone
