Check out what I picked up today........I think I'm gonna clean it up, lighten it up, frame it in, and hang it in the garage.

X2??

Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide

It came out of an airliner. I'm not sure which model. My buddy works out at the airplane boneyard in Mojave and he got it for me. I forgot to ask him where it came from when he dropped it off..........:headscratch:

Yep that is garage art for sure. You need to find a way to backlight some of the gauges...:D

Really cool.

If its the place Im thinking of, you used to be able to fly in there and run around in the planes without anyone bothering you..

Really cool find, it will look nice in a garage or a hangar. :thumbsup

I had a tail hook off a F-4, sent it back to North Island for gold plating and it never came back. I still have one of these laying around somewhere.

Looks like an overhead panel (above pilot & co-pilot) from an old DC-9

How about a few detailed pix so we can determine what gauges are there.

I work out by that airplane boneyard too, lots of cool stuff to pick through. We're stripping two 747's right now and I'm putting some overhead storage compartments in the garage.

Where is this place? You have a name or location. Does it have a strip?

It is at the Majave Airport. There are two areas that you can see from the 14 freeway. One area has planes that are in storage and the other (my buddy's) is Commercial Air Services, picture a pick-a-part for airliners. He buys birds from airlines and parts them out and scraps the airframes.
