Need to paint two pickups original color . I'am in long beach Ca. Have bad experience with california paint products. I'am a weekender at willow valley. Looking for paint store in Bullhead or Lake Havasui. Looking for quality paint and clear, like PPG. Any suggestions ?

If you don't mind me asking, what bad experience?? I live here in cali and paint for a living. Have no issues with anything we use. It's just different now..

there is a new automotive paint store on Kiowa in the same complex as Dunn Edward(don't remember the name) guy that runs it was at Napa, which now doesn't do paint anymore. the other is Pro1 on Aviation. I should ad I have been getting some stuff from Summit that seems ok for as good as I am.

Bad workmanship or thin the paint to much. Red maroon ford started peeling a year after painted.

Are you doing a basecoat clearcoat or a single stage finish. If doing a single stage finish, I will say your options are more limited.

The problem is that automotive paint is CRAZY EXPENSIVE now these days. If you want it to last you gotta go with a name brand paint manufacturer like BASF or PPG etc, but even those guys sell cheap entry level product lines that have no warranty, so you gotta do some homework... At the very least try going with a generic basecoat and a name brand clear...

I used some paint off of eBay that was cheap, and it worked great. Painted a flatbed trailer, and it holding up great. 12 years baking in the Arizona sun….no peeling.

I recently did similarly. Touch-up Direct, ordered factory paint match by code online. Primer, base and clear all in rattle can version. Only needed to do decklid & roof. Color match was about 95% on a 14 yr old car.
Finish was decent, color sanded and buffed out nicely.

Which manufacturer/brand did you go with?

It was called Touch-up Direct. They sell on Amazon but I went to their direct website and ordered what I wanted and was able to use my Amzn acct to pay for it. This I did on my wifes car.
I also used a less expensive clear coat off amazon on my car as a test where I color sanded off just the flakey clearcoat leaving behind(mostly) the base color coat before spraying the new clear on it. Turned out better than I expected🤷‍♂️😎
Trunklid did look like the 1/4 panel. 20241020_170034.jpg 20241020_165931.jpg Screenshot_20250406_102204_Amazon Shopping.jpg
This what I used on my trunk.

PPG in Vegas does. The guy that does the mixing there and detailing on the side is amazing at matching paint as well.

PPG Paints 9733

5475 S VALLEY VIEW BLVD
Las Vegas, NV 89118

A little over an hour and a half away from Willow. Really easy drive til you hit some Vegas traffic.
