My '18 Raptor has the cross traffic alert, and forward collision warning only. The forward collision warning pre-arms the brakes for faster response but doesn't actually brake. The frustrating pain in the ass is trying to get Ford to fix it despite having an extended warranty.
I've complained about the 3 incidents of "Phantom" braking on adaptive cruise, but there's no way in hell they can duplicate it, not sure I even could it's so random. They've got a TSB for my years, but not for Raptors. Anyway, I either just run it in normal cruise, or if using adaptive for a extended trip, I'll just disengage it when I start to pass any type of tanker style big rig, regular enclosed trucks haven't been a problem.

I do see where you can shut-off the active forward and reverse braking, but does it stay off, or reset to auto with each new start ??
They stay off unless the battery dies. It also has a check back seat alarm if someone was sitting back there but you can turn that off as well, the truck asks if I want to leave it off every 4 months.

I’ve got a ‘19 Raptor and I’ve got the lane keeping thing turned off, it’s annoying as hell - but I do get the rare, occasional forward collision warning come on out of nowhere, it scares the hell out of me when it happens, but I’ve got the volume turned down on that - it flashes and beeps but never hits the brakes, thankfully.

I didn't know you could adjust the volume on the forward collision warning.
I turned the lane keeping off on day 1 driving it home from the dealer. It was on a rather shitty road with worn lines and I thought the front tires were out of balance with the damned shaking. Never been back on since.
The collision warning goes off occasionally, when I can see a car turning and know he won't be in my path when I get there, the truck being purely reactive, can't predict that.
And that is the problem as I see it with the adaptive cruise and all these nannies, or driving aids, they're all reactive, instead of being predictive.
You, I and most experienced drivers can anticipate what other drivers might be intending to do by often by their "English" for a lack of a better word.
Like a big rig coming up behind another slightly slower one, you know damn well he's coming over without so much as a signal flash, as one example.
Being able to predict that, we can either punch it or come off the throttle, depending on our proximity and his. The auto-nannies can't, all it can do is quickly react, often by initiating a very aggressive braking action.
This is what I mean by riding with a young inexperienced driver, it's all reactive.

The more I read about the new ones and decaying build quality, the better mine keeps looking.
