Sounds good, if you use a habanero 1 will be more than enough. make sure not to touch any thing after chopping the habanero. Ask me how I know:grumble:

rootbeer? i assume the sugars break down the fibers of the meat a little tenderising it a bit, might try this one.

some plastic gloves work well for chopping peppers, seems we all figure this out the hard way:cool: I chopped some jalipenos one time, the oils absorbed into my fingertips, took 3 days for them to feel normal again, used gloves ever since,we keep a box in the drawer next to the foil and ziplocks now. Habenaro's are just evil, second in my eye only to those little[about3/8"] red peppers the mexicans used to bring to work. those things will damage you X2:skull and as bad as they are going in,they burn more coming out:grumble:

K, gotta say this was very good. I sliced up all the steak for more surface area to absorb the marinade. Been doing a sweet citrus carne for years and this is a nice change. Basically let it sit about 24 hours, cut the corners off the bag to drain the fluid and threw it on the BBQ griddle.
Didn't want to risk losing all those onions thru the grate.
Whole family loved it, Thanks!

But...some of the best asada I've had, have been old-school recipes from real messicans, and I guarantee you they don't even know what most of those ingredients are :D

I tried this on Costco chicken breasts.
I sliced the breasts in two, then marinated them overnight.
Grilled on low heat, rolling over about every minute until just done.
Came out moist with a nice mild flavor.
