Here’s a couple of pics on arrowhead on Saturday afternoon right after a good thunderstorm came through...

Beautiful pictures thank you for sharing! Seeing the water droplets on 025's sled makes me want to grab a microfiber towel to start rubbing! :D

It was funny, right after the rain, his four year old grabbed a micro fiber and started wiping down the “sholla” as he calls it!

John and Matt have 2 of the most Bad Ass Schiadas at Arrowhead. Matts rigging is off the hook, flow coated gel interior, hard line plumbing, and no wires visible anywhere. Totally trick. His son is a 1st class Schiada boy, wiping down the intercooler as soon as the rain quit!!!!AWESOME!

John was fishing the whole time, pulled up a HUGE Bluegill, I would have had a pan fried filet with it...he let it go.

Arrowhead is PURE HEAVEN. You meet the best people in a Schiada.

Good times, for sure Steve! The sr22 is for sure the king on arrowhead, let alone just about any lake it’s on! Hopefully you can make it out to Mead next weekend!

Very true, especially when the lake is full of roll bar boat wakes, and wind chop. It’s probably the main reason our lake has built some of the fastest skiers on the planet, and some of the fastest ski boats.

Ski racing was a way of life on that lake over the 20 year span I summered at Arrowhead, 50's into the 70's.
One of reasons were as you mentioned, washing machine ski racing, LOL.
My dad and his race partner trained Catalina SR skiers all summer during the roughest afternoons conditioning them.
After growing up skiing on Arrowhead I could go anywhere and ski, but the first time I experienced the river it was mind blowing, my tunnel concave ski actually made a whistling sound I'd never heard
Although I must admit, almost similar water could be found at Lake Arrowhead on occasion right around sunrise, Brrrrrrr :p

Another reason they produced some of the fastest skiers is --- They could damn well afford too !!!
That and the family tradition, generation after generation of ski racers, ski fast or be exiled to some 3rd world country :D
BUT, ski racing was really the "E" ticket, because if you were ski racing you could go as fast as your skier would allow, so you could blow out the carbon, AND usually the cops would look the other way at other times, because ski racers rule at Arrowhead

Wow Arrowhead has a lot more water in it than Big Bear. Big Bear is about 16 feet down right now. Its going to be real bad by the end of the year.

Very well put. There is still several old school race families up here that I see time to time, like the Wentds, Tankledges, Rados’s, Companez’s, Peckhams, and a few more that I’ve forgotten. Big checkbook, and big cajones equals fast skiers!

We’re like 8 plus feet down. I am in big bear weekly, and it’s hurting for sure.

Great day. The off and on rain with sun in between is awesome. Great to see Steve with the sr22 out there!

I realize that, however like I said the families are still out and about.

Yes the turbo boat seems to float a lot higher out of the water than the blower motor boat..

Could just be the people in it? But I always find it interesting to see how they float and where the balance is on them etc

Nicer launch ramp that big bear. Tough to get a boat on the water in BB.

Yeah, my boat is packed full of junk for the lake, and people, and Matt’s boat had one micro fiber towel, and 20 gallons of fuel.

Fun memories to be sure. I was up there every weekend each summer from mid 60s to late 70's. The Ski Club was a great all around family experience.
