Been rebuilding/converting/emptying my wallet now for over 2 years 😁 And still a ways to go. Plan is to start rigging in the next month. That's the plan anyway

So many great comments. The bottom line is it just depends on each person's personal likes which is formed by a multitude of factors. I bought a used 22 foot Domen8er deck boat, with very low hours, which I love and at my age will keep as long as I am able to boat, (I live in Havasu). I will make upgrades according to my likes. I enjoy seeing some of the awesome new boats, but as stated I'm happy and blessed with what I have.

Let me tell you Ive got a four-year-old and An about to be two year-old and a newborn, all boys, and that’s probably why I didn’t spend 30 grand redoing my interior this winter.
I have 3 boats currently, a 27' formula, a 21' schiada and this 22 triton. I use the crap out of this boat, playpen seating and carpeted front a rear casting decks, the boys bring sand in the boat its no big deal, just one quick vacuum job and we are good to go

Wait isn’t @TVMNick building a new M42??
Holding off on the 42 for the time being, keeping my 37, sold my toon' and I've got another boat that will be finished in about a month that is a little more family oriented that I can overnight on if I so choose.

With that said, I drove the M42R and it truly is everything you'd expect of a DCB. They've done an amazing job with that boat just as they did the 37. We ultimately decided that now wasn't the time to sell our 37 as we didn't feel "done" with it, and we wanted to expand the boating into larger more salty horizons. DCB has other cool things in the works right now, it's not my place to say what those are and I'm sure Tony will chime in on that, but I'd like to see how those projects come out. I'm sure we will build another DCB at some point though, for now we are still very much enjoying our 37 and blessed to have it!

I think part of it is a couple of things. They building boats that none of us can afford. So the dream wears off. Second the outboard cats and twin toons started to get repetitive and just insert your choice of color for the most part. At least that’s how I felt.

Back in the magazine days I read every boat review from the 21 jet to the 33 Daytona. They were call cool.

Now with the twin cats and toons i feel they are all the same. Same with center console. No variety now.

Early 2000s you had 21 tunnels. 21 skiers. 23/25 vee, 25/27/28 cats. Deck boats, toons, wakeboard boats. Jet boats all brand new any given weekend
You are spot on... Tritoons, Cats with twins and Wake Boats dominate the market... go get a powerboat/hotboat magazie during the testing issues from late 90s and the variety of boats is so much more varied... and so were the prices...

I sure do miss the late 90s/early 2000s and going with my Dad to the Malibu Newstand every month and getting the new issues of either powerboat or hot boat magazines on our way back from getting groceries at the Ralph’s or eating breakfast at Coogies.

I’ve always wondered how they’ve been able to stick around all these years. They must have a sweetheart lease.
