I just bought a cheese cake for $25 off a little girl who just knocked on our door, funding for her brothers school trip.

My Fiancée laughed and said I’m the biggest sucker there is, I’m severely lactose intolerant and can’t even eat it lol.

Lemonade stands, Girl Scout cookies, Go Fund Me’s, you name it and I can’t say no.

Let’s hope it’s not poisoned lol

I'm always buying stuff from the neighborhood kids. Yeah, I'm a sucker for that stuff. I like the fact that they are out there hustling. lol No way I'm gonna say no. Cookies and Lemonade stands, I'm all about supporting their efforts.

Kids for school trips...
School sports...
And lately, some youth programs for life skills and job training.

Used to donate to any Vet charity deals, but learned some aren't as good as others. Now I'm more particular, and more local based ones.

I skip buying most of the things and just make a donation. Cut out the middle man and more of the money goes to the cause, right? Also, I do not want/am not supposed to eat most of what they are selling. Now if it is a kids lemonade stand or something where they are producing, not just reselling, I always buy and usually tip.

I always support kids selling something.

My brother and I grew up at the T of Las Flores, Schueren and Piuma. We’d sell sodas our parents bought us to all the motorcycle riders. $1 a shot.

In hindsight we should have sold beer at $5 a go lol.

Kind of a Hawaii thing….families would sell fund raising things like Zippy’s chilly to fund family vacations. I should have known at that time that things were going to hell in a hand basket.:mad::mad:

Funny story of how we lived there.

My uncle created the original Big Bertha driver. In 1995ish he offered the property to all of my family (8aunts and uncles ish).

My parents had just sold their home in Monrovia and were trying to move towards the SFV. At the time my Dad (Rob Klein) was building Country Wide branches in SoCal.

Well my uncle was in a lawsuit with Callaway on whether he created it under them or created it on his own.

So he sold the property real cheap (400k) to cover his attorney costs. He won in the end. His name was Glen Schmidt. You can google it and see he won in 1997.

Unfortunately he passed a few years later. And like all big families the relationship is stressed at best.

But it’s a good story 😎

I'm a total sucker for little girls selling shit. Especially homemade cakes/cookies and crap...various grandmas battling for victory!

I buy hundreds of dollars of Girl Scout Cookies every year, my friends daughters all know Uncle Josh is down for $100 every year.....🥰

Sometimes buy cookies. I get irritated mom comes with daughter selling GS cookies, ok buy some. 2 days later I'm washing car in driveway same mom walking dog goes by I say good morning, pretends she didn't hear me, driving out sub see the same mom with husband on their sidewalk window down wave as going by, nothing pretend we didn't see you. All the while looking at you.
Do I continue to buy cookies?

I am if they are actually selling something. I won't support anyone begging for money without putting enough effort to sell something.

If I see any kid with some hustle- I'm in for whatever's in my pocket.

If I'm getting hit by the parents doing all the work- no chance unless they are really good friends and I can clearly see that they just want the fucking fundraiser to be over (I was there once).

Yes, absolutely. My latest purchase was from some high school aged Boy Scouts set up in front of Ace Hardware. Mr.DB says "no" under his breath as we approach, but I don't listen too well 😆 and proceeded to buy the world's smallest bag of popcorn for $25. I pointed at my husband and told the kids, "this guy was an Eagle Scout". It was really sweet to see them light up and tell him what they were working on and what level they were, etc. It makes me happy and gives me hope for this world to see kids doing healthy KID stuff, instead of hiding away playing video games or out being a punk in need of an ass whoopin'.

Seriously, the bag was such a laughable size, we chuckled about it for the next hour or so.

Our Buddy from high school Dad got rich of machining the big bertha if I recall. Marv. He just sold the big house in Torrance we used to hang out at. His son bought a place at Echo few years ago and we crossed paths again. Small world.
