A multiple-missile attack by Yemen's Houthi rebels on two US warships has been thwarted, the Pentagon has said.

At least eight drones, five anti-ship ballistic missiles and three anti-ship cruise missiles were aimed at the USS Stockdale and the USS Spruance on Monday.

The vessels shot down the projectiles and were "not damaged and no personnel were hurt," Pentagon press secretary Air Force Major Gen Pat Ryder told reporters on Tuesday.


The attack followed a series of airstrikes made by the US Central Command against Houthi weapons storage bases in Yemen.

And if I was Kim and Xi, I’d be considering a simultaneous move. They are now at much less risk to take back Taiwan and/or reunite Korea as the next administration wants out of foreign entanglements.

It will be interesting if those two take advantage of the change in US policy to further their international ambitions.

I think Taiwan is too strategic an asset for the western world to let slip into full Chinese control.

What and South Korea isn't a major electronics supplier as well? That would also be a major blow to the worlds electronics marketplace.

Neither of them can, or should, be lost.

Problem is, North Korea can do a lot more damage to South Korea than the reverse (economically, geopolitically, population wise) than South Korea can do the North.

Same for Tiawan and China, China can wipe it off the map even if they don't keep it and they can set the planet back a bit. I doubt any tech company in Tiawan is allowed to help China, but they are certainly a vital cog to the western world.
