I actually worked the LA riots- 20 days straight. Your example is exactly why we the people, need our guns. It was total chaos for a week or so. We just could not be everywhere during that chaotic time. There were many good folks that armed themselves to protect their homes and businesses. We were all good with it as we knew how bad it was.

I long wonder how my life would have changed If I hadn't gotten the people out just before the cocktails started falling - with a building full of people underneath me I feel I'd be forced to shoot them where they stood if the timing had been any different.

I could make a movie about getting across town that first afternoon the equal of any action flick.

.....dude..to this day I really don't even have the right words for what I saw go down.

the irony is we (well we believe) we were a target because the side of the building said sony/ panasonic/ and JVC.

There wasnt a single thing in the building that people could even used it was all pro level gear but they looted it anyway -
a CBS news cameraman sat across the street in a van for a while taping the looting nd progressing flames- we all watched people going in and out after smashing etc front gate - dip shits even went INTO a burning building to steal.

Why were we a firebombing target vs the arbys next door or the max factor museum 40 feet away is anyones guess.

Hmmmm. I have a 2 ton truck sitting in the driveway. Wonder if I put that thing in 4 wheel drive, and drove into a large crowd what the outcome would be? Sure glad that isn't happening anywhere.
Notice how nobody blamed the truck for the last New York attack. Gee I wonder why.
