Aqua Step Tune Up

Yesterday I had some business in Corona so I figured it was a good time to drop off my aqua step to get fixed. I had read that they do a tune up on them for $34.99 and mine was in desperate need.

A couple trips ago our springs went out so I have had it duck taped up. On top of that, the foam was tearing and I had zip ties holding that together.

I expected a couple week turn time so I told her I needed it by October 10th.

To my surprise she said that it's a 24 turn time! I will head back down next week to pick it up.

I did the same about 3 years ago and I think its about time I do it again. Mine takes a beating between my two kids using the back of the Boat as a diving board while parked all the time...:grumble:

Did mine earlier this summer. I figure it will be an every other year thing at that price. I see a lot of people at the river with steps that don't go up all the way.

The low price to rebuild really surprised me compared to how much these things retail for.

Id use 100% clear silicone, Dow 732, or GE...etc. Make sure its 100%

Home Depot has 100% clear, I think they carry GE. May also say SCS1000

Next time. Take the bolt out that attach each tube to the brackets instead of the 6 mounting bolts. That?s how I did mine so I didn?t have to deal with sealing anything.

this is what I had done before and I must have gotten lucky, I dropped it off, went over to AO coolers just down the street, came back to pick it up less than an hour later, just like new and holding up great.

Funny you say that because I thought the same thing as I picked it up........I was like......Fudge!! Could have made this so much easier!
