Looks like a pretty good deal and it's in my area.

I was thinking about the 21 Ultra the other day..

Just a clean simple fun boat. I love em. The water is so damn rough nowadays it would be hard to run them in a big weekend.. but if you could find decent water I still think they are a great value and more fun than you can shake a stick at. I’ll probzbly have one in my garage someday just to have a cruiser for the kids

I had a 22 stealth with a big block and a jet. I really liked that boat. Like RD said. It's just kinda small for the water due to all the big boats out now. It was a blast on the river.

The 21’s ride a lot better than the 22’s. The 22 is actually lower profile than the 21 and the length is measured off the integrated swim steps

I believe it’s a shallower Vee as well.

I'd like to mention I have no idea who's boat this is, just thought it was a good deal.

EDIT: I thought it might be @dribble 's boat but I don't think so.

My 99 had the 350/alpha setup. Ran great! Super reliable.. Never a single issue. Awesome boat looking back at it now.

This boat only has 230 hours it's just barely broken in. Hell, I think I'm talking myself into buying it.:D

Not mine. It's a nice boat but I would have built it with a Bravo. I have seen that boat on the lake many times.

With that motor package why? The alpha is more efficient then a bravo?

Most with the 350 mag 300hp had the Bravo 3. I had the 454 Mpi 310hp and it was 2-3 mph faster side by side with the B3 350.

This thread will sell this boat if it is not sold already. Good looking out Greg. Inventory of NICE boats under 20k is slim.

A 21 with a SBC and an alpha is a great package....if you're chasing 3mph in a boat like this...you're in the wrong boat. It's a cruiser. It'll run in the 60's forever without breaking anything, but that's not what this type of boat is about. Its a family truckster.

You can say that again lol

Never been a fan of step skier style boats....or walk through open bows in general, but I'm really digging this one.

I'm trying to hold off until I come across another clean Lavey Sebring OB or the like but this might be more practical for the fam.

It’s a bit pricey on the parts but do able.. The question is why would you?
My 21 has a 305 and a bravo1 does 64 on GPS and the shifting in and out gear is smooth as glass something an alpha can't do. Not that the alpha is junk because it's not I just prefer the smoothness of the bravo

Another fun fact about Alpha drives - The sea water pump impeller is in the drive itself, and for some reason they last 10+ years with brutal neglect. I know 3 guys with alphas, all 3 don't do maintanance for shit, and all 3 of them have ran the impeller for 10 years or more. Once guy went 15 then sold the boat! Lol. Try THAT with a normal Merc belt driven impeller housing

When I bought it it had an aluminum 3 blade 21p and best I could do was 57mph and handled chop horribly, the next day I was on the phone with Hill Marine and they set me up with a SS 4 blade 19p, went out to the same lake that Fri and ran 64 with me and my pops and it handled the chop with no problem, not kidding the biggest change was the chop by a big margin not the speed.

This is a fact!! Although I don't condone it, I have seen many, many drives with the same impeller in them for years. One other little tidbit, changing an impeller on an Alpha is so much easier than trying to change a Bravo. Seats, impeller at the lowest point of the engine, hoses on the back of the pump = one BIG fricken hassle. Not having to get in the boat makes impeller changes a breeze on the Alpha's.

Hmmm, that is about an 1:20 from me. I could use that boat. I don't even mind the gel.

That looks like a really good deal. My BIL has a sbc/alpha combo on his Essex and it is bulletproof, I bet he has 1,000 hours on the thing or more.

I'm taking applications for the Alpha drive fan club

I built this Eagle Pacific in 99 with a 350 Mag and a Bravo. I used it for waterskiing. It was a great ski boat. The boat ran about 62 with a 22 pitch prop. The builder at the time included the Bravo with all his boats at no extra cost. Plus I figured all I would ever have to do is keep the oil changed and the drive would be bulletproof. It was

For family I'd take this over a Sebring all day long..

For performance I'd take the Sebring.

If you are interested in Alpha drives give this a read, he does some very interesting stuff to them to make them more reliable.
