Our 10 year old is a wild child on his Raptor 250 getting big air so we're considering the Leatt neck brace for him.

Any takes?

I think most of the tracks require the jrs to wear them now.

not pala,,,might be soon though.Problem is how expensive they are.Ive seen kids bikes out there that cost less

Should be required gear. Got my son one AFTER he broke a collar bone. EVS makes a great product, 1/2 price of Leatt.

Doesn't really matter what brand you get. Just try them on with the helmet and then see which chest protector fits with the neck brace. I wear a Leatt. I would feel naked without it now. I had trouble with the chest protector at first. My husband got me a six six one that goes under the jersey. It is awesome with the Leatt. I don't do crazy stuff, but was told about a guy who broke his neck while in 1st gear, just going over the top of a berm and misjudged how tall the berm was on the back side :( The neck brace did take some adjustments, but the instructions were good and took about 10 minutes.

My son bought one a couple of years ago. He swears by it. Even had it adjusted for me for Parker boat races but didn't I chose not to wear it. The kids are more safety concious than I am. All his friends have them too. They also ride at Pala quite a bit, its only 20 minites away.

We appreciate the tips and tales.
We'll follow through and refocus more on safety with the kids moving into serious HP.

I am selling mine. :(

Can't get used to it. Today was my fifth ride with it and I actually hate it. I want to like it, but don't.

I can't look up with it. I don't know if it is the combination of the gear I wear or what, but I put a ton of money into it, plus the new TLD jacket that is Leatt compatible etc... Can't get it to work.

The helmet keeps hanging up on it every time I turn my head while looking up, and I look up to look through turns when riding in trees.

I think the big thing is that I wear a 661 Pressure Suit armor, and it just doesn't work well.

The other thing I hate about it is that you need to wear your jersey under your armor now, because the neck on your jersey won't clear the Leatt. I ususally use my pressure suit over an underarmor shirt, then my jersey, with a jacket on for dual sport stuff in the morning. Can't do that any more. Would have to wear the pressure suit over the jersey, which would destroy the pressure suit quickly with trees and shit. It is a meshy undergarment really.

As a last ditch hope, I was thinking about switching to a regular hard chest protector that is set up for the Leatt and seeing if that works. That would be $190 for the pressure suit down the drain though, and I would need to buy elbow pads.
