Anyone stay at a resort with pool swim up hotel rooms?

I was just looking at a renovated sandals in Jamaica that has these bomb ass suites with private pool and swim up lazy river, butler and full stocked in room bar. But then I was thinking it’d be nicer to not have to fly so far. I’m really looking for a lazy river type thing in front of your hotel room.

As much as I absolutely hate Mexico and refuse to go there I was told a while ago about a place maybe in Cozumel that had a lazy river right off the hotel room patio and took you to the main pool that had swim up bar. Now THIS is what I’m talking about!!

Anyone know the place or know of a similar place. Think the wife and I want to get away at some point and I’d dig to do that.

Phoenix has several water based hotels. The Pointe is one and there is a Marriott I think that is more adult oriented.

Check some of the places in Dominican Republic. We stayed at an Excellence Resort. Certain rooms had individual soakers and/or was 5 steps out of room to enter pool that snaked around the resort, a handfull of which were a 15second breaststroke away from the poolbar. Poolbar closed at a decent hour as to not cause disturbance to room occupants.
All inclusive. There wasn't anything we did not enjoy there, be it food, drink or atmosphere. The spa had the full on steam, ice, water jetting and massage treatment that was heavenly. Nightly entertainment was always worth watching. Most fun was the "Silent Party". A DJ'd dance party where you wear headphones that broadcast 3 different music genres you can dial in, so you'd have people dancing on same floor to different songs....an absolute riot.

We stay at Destin West on Okaloosa Island/Destin, We get a 3 bedroom suite on the bay side ground floor. There is a lazy river right outside the balcony. If we want a beach day, walk across the sky bridge and then your right at the beach. Have been staying there for about 4 years.

I just went to Cancun a few weeks ago. Stayed at Secrets Playas Mujeres. Nice big resort. Food was surprisingly good for being all inclusive. It’s located north of Cancun away from the
“hotel row”. Some rooms have the swim out pools. Some have jacuzzi tubs on the patio.

I have done the silent disco a few times. Its pretty damn fun. I typically will not dance, im that guy.

For Mexico, the Eldorado Casitas Royale in the Riviera Maya was the best experience. Very nice, food and service was excellent and the swim up suite is the only way to roll. It will not disappoint.
Travel to the Riviera is as safe as it gets. Fly in to Cancun, have the resort setup private transportation and it’s roughly a 45 minute drive. If you do want to venture outside the resort there is lots to do.

The Bimini Hilton has a lagoon style pool, which you can access from a 1st floor room, with swim-up bar. Another rooftop pool, with negative edge. Another marina pool, which is massive and tropical, very inviting. Another beach front pool. And beachfront beach bar. Casino. Great golf cart exploring. Golf carts are for rent everywhere. You can also get there by taking a catamaran passenger ferry from Miami. It makes for a great..... off the beaten path vacation.

How cars the flight? Only reason I’m second guessing this jamacain deal is I’d like a little less of a flight. We have some other trips already on the books this year and just thinking a shorter flight would be the ticket.

Have you ever considered Turkey? The American Dollar goes a lot further. Here is an example of a resort in Turkey. I am really just posting this to show places that don’t seem to show up on US Travel websites. I don’t really expect anyone to book a vacation here, but it is interesting to see. It looks very high end.

It does take you to the main pool which has a bar in the center.
Beach cruisers are available just outside your door and the walk along the beachside is a pretty good stretch covering the entire resort. A few drinks and a spin on the bikes made for some pretty good laughs.
The resort is top notch.

I’m not one for long flights so we’ve been to the Riviera more than anywhere else.

Bali was great but I don't believe it's anywhere near normal for them yet. We have regular contact with the "shuttle driver" we used.

We stayed at Secrets Akumal in Riviera Maya and got a swim up room. It was amazing and now always look for rooms with a swim up or private plunge pool. I’ve heard positive and negative about Jamaica. Ive personally never been so I can’t comment.

I got that same email and it peaked my interest about staying at one of their properties.

My wife and I love Aruba and would rather be at the private Renaissance island with the Flamingos than be near or in the pool.

My wife and I love Aruba and would rather be at the private Renaissance island with the Flamingos than be near or in the pool.

Well, I did have one incident there. Got a splinter in my foot and the physician on-site didn't have any tweezers
Other than that we had a great time, friendly staff, clean and perhaps making it more memorable was some of the people we met there and still keep in contact with.

I'm definitely not saying we didn't have fun, but way down on our list of places we would visit again. Great staff, clean and decent but not great food. We really just aren't fans of all inclusive. It was too far from everything as well because we like to get out on bikes and such and do stuff during the day. We are SUPER active vacationers. hahaha. Love to sit by the pool or beach and get a buzz, just can't do that for seven days straight.


No swim up pool but amazing views and beach on the Renaissance Island in Aruba! Token shot of my great wife feeding the flamingos! haha. We love it there. We have been to Hawaii, Punta Cana, Cabo, Cancun, the Keys, St Martin, and more, and Aruba definitely has some of the most open beautiful beaches of all.

Stayed at a similar place as @beaverretriever in Punta Cana with swim up.

I will say this....Wife and I typically get a Garden View room as we don't spend much time in it when on vacation. I would rather save that money to do other adventures while on vacation.

That being said, the swim up was one exception....Was awesome to get back from the daily adventures, walk out your slider and take a dip and have some drinks right next to your room. This was as an all inclusive, which I'm not a huge fan of, but you had a private waitress at the swim ups that would keep the drinks coming without even asking. We also had friends with rooms in the same area so it was nice having our own private area of pool and could duck back in your room at anytime to use your restroom, take a nap, grab a snack, etc.

I don't think we will go back to Domincan Republic, as we didn't care for the food and not a lot to do outside of the resort, but swim up suites were the highlight of that vacation for us and would certainly pay the upgrade at any hotel that swim up is an option.

I also agree in Aruba being an amazing destination and one of our other favorites is San Pedro/Caye Caulker Belize.

ontario to Dallas then it was like 4hrs give or take not to bad
the ride from San Jose airport to resort was a little over a hour of twisty road over and down a mountain but bus driver was cool and we stopped at the market for Beers !!! for the ride

Golfed (they rent there) no need to travel with them
Went on a Crocodile river tour
Rain forest tour
Parasailed --water skied
went in to Jalisco for food and drinks and some shopping but for the most part spent the time on resort
Go before the rainy season starts in May

This place is on my return vacation list

Barbados has what you speak of... However all inclusive is just not for us either... Had an amazing time but one of those trips we wouldn't do again. But we did really enjoy adults only... (No kids was nice!)

Yep was planning on going back just before the whole Covid shit . June is our 20th Anniversary . Hoping to go back then . I like the all inclusive . All the liquor and they have great restaurants in all types of food .
