I've never found that the oft used term, "Fresh Seafood" sounded a bit appealing or convincing when I'm in the middle of a hot desert region, as it might if I were in an SEA setting. Like Hawaii or one of the Sports Fishing markets on San Diego Bay, or during my youth when visiting the most wonderfully delightful Pier Point Landing.
So no, in 26 years of recreating at Lake Havasu, not once have we been brave enough to try Fresh Seafood.

I live by the theory = if the town has commercial air service, I will try seafood if I desire when out at dinner.
No commercial air service, no way I eat the fish on the menu

Took my son and his friends to a restaurant in Havasu for his 18th birthday. Mom and I got steak, all 5 kids got the scallops - all 5 had the shits within 3 hours while walking the channel Memorial Day weekend 2013.

Haven't tried them yet, but good luck to them, seems they had a rough start. Owned by two girls who lost a third partner to possible domestic violence before they could even open. I see they haven't lost their sense of humor.

I grew up on the water in New England with my dads boat parked in front of the house on a dock. The river we lived on was 2 miles by boat to the open ocean. I grew up eating fish that was caught, and then cleaned, filet and cooked within hours of being swimming. Once you do that its hard to eat seafood any other way.

And one thing my dad always said is if you can smell the fish its not fresh. Fresh fish has no odor what so ever. If I go to the store for seafood or a restaurant and can smell fish Im not ordering it. Similar philosophy when I was single and dating.

I've never found myself hungry for Seafood unless I was near the sea, or it was fare I'd caught myself. Unless it was Lobster, I can each that shit anywhere 😁

I know when I was in Tahiti and even Hawaii, I ate some types of sea life I'd bet money I'd never try. Something about the ocean air or atmosphere. Like when I'm on Catalina Island, nothing but seafood sounds good.

I’ve performed building maintenance for some of the biggest sea food distributors here in San Diego and the way they keep and store, deliver sea food is amazing!

They use 5 sided pallets filled with flake ice in huge walk in type refrigerator rooms. I don’t see that happening on a refrigerated truck to havasu every 3 days... but that’s just me.

A nice steak or a rack of ribs, maybe some carnitas, or some some lamb is always good choice.

Yeah me to, except I grew up waterfront on the Chesapeake with the boat slipped in front of the house.
Strippers and fresh blue crab went in the pot the day it was caught. Damn good childhood.

A day of crabbing in the bay and then the fight to keep them in the pot while listening to them scream was enough for me . Only creatures who walk on land now ! Lol

In 71' I was stationed at and with the Army boat school at Ft Eustis. So for awhile, lived and worked on the James River and Chesapeake. Enjoyed evenings drinking beers and crabbing. I only glow under UV lights 😂

I guess not everyone liked the Wet Clam, looks like the place is closed and gone. In it's place is the North Side Grill.

Last couple summers, we would hit the Wet Clam up every trip. We actually really enjoyed it! Their fish and chips were pretty friggen good. Sorry to hear they are gone.

There was a bar in Vegas off the strip that was called the slanted clam. Took a pic but lost it.
