Anyone Prescott Valley Or Live Near?

Throwing up a flag. Youngest son is playing football this year. As with all sports, there's that fundraising thing. Last Tuesday they handed out these "Discount Card" things...last Wednesday morning we had to leave town for a funeral.

Normally, you'd sell these things in front of the Walmart up here, or have your parents sell them to family and co-workers. Wife's school got hit last week, and the varsity team has been doing "shifts" at Walmart. Selling door to door doesn't work well out here.

They aren't cheap, but do have some decent coupons. Drawback is some are Prescott Valley, and all are "participating AZ locations"

These things are 20$. They're pricey, but the proceeds go mostly to pay for busses as they play games from Phoenix to Kingman.

If someone is interested in buying one this weekend, I will drive him over to knock on your door, or meet at a place of your choosing. He's a 6'2", 200lb, "little" kid. Hard to think of him as my baby boy, and isn't the scrawny freshman

As a bonus, you'll get to see the infamous POS, "Prius of Shame"!

I think I've bought one every year since we moved here. Usually from the Walmart crew.

Screw Walmart.. set up in front of the RDP office and tell them they get a "free" drink with every purchase! But they have to redeem the drink inside the office!!

I honestly don't know. The card says "participating AZ locations", so sounds pretty vague. In my experience, it usually depended on who was at the register.

10+ years ago my daughter was selling Girl Scout Cookies. I loaded up the truck and hit up the bars. Walk in at midnight, talk to the bartender, and they'd shut off the music and make an announcement.

I don't know about ethical, but it was a successful business model

Go hit up the boys at Founding Fathers on granite st and ask them if you could stand around one evening for a few hours. The owners love getting involved with local stuff.

Man, it's a cold hustle. Sitting back in the parking lot and watching. Son has been out here for a bit, posted up in front of Dick's. Seems like maybe half don't even make eye contact. He's trying, and oddly enough, the people I've noticed actually stopping and talking with him are the more "rough" appearing.

The logic behind Dick's was it's one of the bigger discounts on the card. If this continues to be slow, we'll push up the road to Texas Roadhouse. Also a bigger deal, reusable card deal for appetizers.

I'm sure these cards must be mathematically worth it, but candy bars were my favorite. In the old days, a buck a bar. This is a 20$ bill for a card.

I think PayPal is doable...definitely a "CFO" thing...I'll have to ask my wife when I get home. We officially have something called "Zelle" as of this morning.
As for the pics, I think the tech department here installed the new server sideways I messed with the pics and it still did it!

Brief update: Texas Roadhouse was a bust. My son said most conversations went like this:
Son. "Would you be..."
Patrons. "No."

No sales.

At the Walmart between Prescott and Prescott Valley now. One sale so far. 3 big guys walked up to my son. Varsity players. Told my son "Target the families, they get it"
Pretty cool, seniors helping him with that part, and stopping to speak with him.

Short side story on the "little kid":

He's never played football, just catch in the yard. Last week they were doing some drill, push the defender back, dodge around their side and grab the ball behind the defender.
He plows the kid. Knocks him over, sidesteps and gets the ball.
He then apologized, and offers him a hand.
His teammates, including the one on the ground, are laughing at him. "Never say you're sorry!"

He's an ox, but a nice ox
