I also have had a Mont Blanc for ever that I never use. Kinda ridiculous how expensive they are.

I was given a Waterman as a gift from the seller of a business when I bought the company from him. Used it to sign closing docs and its been in my drawer ever since.

Porsche sent me what I think is a nice pen when I bought my GTS. Has some carbon fiber on it so it must be nice?

I have a few Space Pens and have had them for years. Typically use Cross pens.

I know a good pen when i use one, and enjoy writing with a good pen, but have never taken the time or put in effort to always have a good pen on hand. I think a writing device has a life expectancy of about 6 hours in my hands before i lose it, break it, or someone steals it.

I’ll check out the Fishers and maybe buy a few for use at the house.

I did hear a funny story about pens. It was regarding making the movie A Few Good Men. The comedian guy Kevin Pollack was trying to take notes on his script and Tom Cruise loaned him a pen and Kevin commented what a nice pen it was and Tom told him is was a $500 pen at which point Kevin handed it back. Tom wound up giving Kevin one of these pens as a gift, and later asked Kevin if he was using the pen, which Kevin replied it was too nice to use. So Tom bought him a second one so he could actually use it and keep the other one.

I can't imagine a $500 disposable pen but hey, rich people need to spend more money than us shlubs with our 5 cent Bic pens.

But if your in a business that makes deals, I can imagine you splurge on one good pen (or a bunch) to sign deals with.

Pen nerds? I know the watch thread has a lot of people posting and like me, I love watches and pens.

I'm not a collector by any means, but I do appreciate a good quality pen. My go-to is the Fisher Space Pen, which my wife has been using for 20 years, long before I discovered them. They have become our favorites.

The black titanium nitride Infinium (the larger barrel pen to the rightbof the 3 Cerakote pens) has a life time guarantee to never run out of ink. When it does, Fisher will put a new cartridge in at no cost to you!

I use the Cerakote Capo-matics (first 3 on left) and their flagship original AG7 (upper right in chrome and Ti) used in every manned space mission (even Russia and China use them on their missions, not pencils. Haha)

What is your everyday go to for a quality pen? Please no normal Chinese Bic, Zebra, Pilot etc.

Fisher Space Pens are made in Boulder City, I went to school with all of Paul Sr's Grand Kids, they were all good friends. The youngest is now running the company. My mother worked there for probably 5 years in the 90s

I used to do a lot of sketches with ball point pens. I wonder how well a "lifetime" pen would work? Honestly, never heard of them, and sound great. The weight of a real pen, even an old fountain pen, feels better I think. With arthritis or neuropathy, it can also help keep your writing more consistent throughout a longer span.

I’ve been using a Tifinay ball point gel pen for almost 15 years. Made in Germany and I use Monteverde Ceramic Gel inserts. Its literally the best thing since sliced bread. So many people try and steal it. I call it my million-dollar pen. It’s done a few hundred million worth of business in my hands.

I go with whatever is free, well I guess it really wasn't free.

I do like writing with a nice pen, but I have a tendency to lose them all the time. I also hate fine point, I prefer to write with a medium and with like 3 pieces of paper under what I'm writing on. Also being left handed I turn my paper almost 90 degrees and with a crappy pen end up with ink on the side of my hand.

I too am left handed, and like a pen that is "medium" at least, and darker the black ink looks, the better. I seem to like gel pens historically. Any recommendations? My Parker Jotter is purely for the clicks, I don't particular care for how it writes, when needing to hand write a letter, there are a couple of gel disposables I have been loyal to over the years.

The Dunhill was a gift from a client in London.

I buy whatever is on sale is packs of 20 or more…I have this ability to set down 3 pens on a desk, and make them disappear within 10 minutes.

I order about 1 30 pack every month…I have no idea where they go.

Best pens on the planet... for a contractor who's actually a hand cripple about now. Just set two glue lam's this morning. Construction pencils suck.

I go through a box of these weekly it seems and I am well aware nobody in this thread could give a crap.

For my job on a moving train i use the Pilot G2 0.7 in blue gel. I’d like to find a nice pen that either used those cartridges or a very similar ink as those. I also lose them long before i dry them out, but i believe that is likely the fact they don’t matter as they’re inexpensive.
Anyone have a suggestion I’d like to hear it.

I used to work in a CNC machine shop and used to frequently have to leave my office to solve problems in the shop, or go visit clients. I would come back and always find my pens gone. One weekend, while at the mall, walked into Spencer's (you remember those stores?) and bought one of those jokes pens that had about 10 hearing aid batteries in it. It gave a pretty good jolt to your hand.
Monday morning, had to go out to visit a customer and when I got back, found out who had been 'borrowing' my pens. It was the shop owner and he was not amused.....

The annual Dallas Pen Show was a few weeks ago, I happened to see an online article about it. There were pens on display that cost thousands of dollars, 18 carat solid gold, platinum, diamond inlaid, etc.

It turns out annual pen conventions are a thing. Looking around I found shows in Atlanta, Los Angeles, NYC. Who knew?

This pen is my garage pen mostly.
And is kind of handy. Comes with 2 refill too.

In addition to the level, screw bits and various rulers, the rubber end works well as a stylus.

Not a pen … but I’ve hung on to this for 40 years.
Buddy gave it to me when his Dad passed & he was cleaning out his garage.
It’s some type of re-fillable pencil from a welding shop in Isabel Kansas.
I know it’s old because the phone # is ‘75’.

The eraser is like petrified wood !

You pull the cap off which holds the sleeve of refillable lead/graphite or whatever it is , turn it around and slide it back into the main section. Seems to be made of brass.
