Does anyone recognize this boat? It's in the storage yard where I keep my trailer. It's been uncovered for years and getting roached. I don't understand how people can let such nice things rot away and pay to keep it there. Has some nice parts on it. Last registered in havasu in 2013. I would love to pick it up for the right price. Storage lot says they can give the owner my number but they cannot give me theirs.

Looks like a Lavey a friend of mine had with a 525. It was beautiful back in its day. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I wasn’t sure, I reached out to him at the last number I had. Haven’t heard back.

I used to store Motorhomes and trailer there for years. The amount of junk at that place that would sit without moving for 10-15 years would blow my mind.

I remember one time calculating over $12,000 in storage fees for a car with $500 that never moved. No way they were getting rent from some of the spots. Also had a homeless person living in car next to my trailer for years.

RV storage yards are interesting to say the least.

Very close but looks a little different. There is a patch of black on your image that is not in the OP’s photos.

Similar.
I did the one you posted. Has a black simulated windshield.
The flames on this one is gray fade, the one in storage is silver flames with a wisp of black on all the radius.

Maybe some of you will remember what looked to be a daytona icc rotting at the storage yard off of Brea Canyon in diamond bar/walnut. exit from the 57.

There's also a newly placed bigass scarab off the 91 in the storage lot in corona.

That’s a 29 NuEra

Total of I think 4 Lavey’s with that gel scheme. 28 EVO #1, 29, 2750, 27 Sabre.

Original boat posted is a 2750 and had either a Merc 525 or 496ho.

There was a Conquest Top Cat sitting here at the Landing rotting. Cover blown off, although it was under an awning. I was going to start trying to get ahold of the owner etc. Hadn't seen anybody at the house either for a few years. Last weekend they showed up, cleaned up the house and dragged the boat away. You never know.

a lot of those place have automatic payment from your bank account and the amount of people that forget and never stop the payment is huge.

I have my toy hauler in a covered spot in a storage yard, I pay $220 a month...in the spot right next to mine is an old like 2001 convertible mustang, top is ripped to shreds, tires are flat, interior is toast....I can't understand why anyone would pay over $200 a month to store that thing...its literally trash..

Unless it’s wet or damp you'll do more damage . Is that water on the floor?
Yes it has about 3 inches of water on the floor. I'm sure the cabin has some too. If these are all fiberglass and no wood it may not be so bad. It has some nice parts on it, k-planes, external steering, bravo x drive, has extra water dumps so possibly blown.
Next time I go over there I will see if they will give the owner my number.

I tried no less than 12 times to get a number or a message to the owner.

Newport Dunes has this issue with older disregarded boats ... I've never seen one there this nice though.... launch guys tell me folks just keep paying and not using. Divorce happens as well which adds to the mix he says. Tarps eroded laying on side of trailer is the look.... some boats in that yard in Newport haven't moved in 20 years. Weird.

Extra dumps makes sense.
The guy who helped build it said he thinks it’s a Merc 600 boat.

Not much wood in a 2750.

No telling what the story is behind this just sitting. Maybe husband died and wife is overwhelmed and just forgot about it. Sometimes when someone shows interest in something like this it ends up being picked up or relocated soon after interest is shown. Would be interesting to know the story behind this situation.

If there were only 4 of them made in this scheme I wonder if it was the boat owned by prestige golf cars? Pretty sure the guys name was Mike, he had a 21 with similar gel that ran around canyon lake for a bit

Don't worry, I'm sure we will see it up for sale in the near future for $100k! The guys that let their boats get destroyed are usually the ones that want the most. Never understood that.

I never noticed the boat. it's been three years since I have been in there but my buddy keeps his Motorhome on that same Row and I used to keep mine on the row next to it.

Assuming there’s no rot in the stringers/transom I think it just needs a wet sand and new interior. Obviously the motor is big question mark.

But the gel doesn’t look that bad to me?

2011 damn. The one I found years ago was there 6 years and 9 months. 3 more months and it could of been hauled off and re registered.

Thats one "Epic Float!"
He flipped a boat I wanted to but backed out of before buying. I just didn't feel like doing all the cutting and buffing and misc work in the middle of the summer. I guess I wasn't hungry enough as I make my money in other easier ways lol. Still wanted that boat for the summer though and a bit salty about that.

Always blows my mind when you see this. Years ago I had to store my first boat outside. It came with a nice towable cover, so I hade that cover on it, a cheap cover over that, and a big ass tarp I wrapped around the whole deal and had it bungeed up tight like a diaper. Also put wheel covers over the trailer tires... hahaha. At the end of the row I was on there was what use to be a REALLY nice Eliminator that looked worse than that boat, the tags were years out of date. I asked the owner of the storage yard for the owners info and he told me the same thing, cant give info out. I asked him to reach out to the owner and see if he wants to sell it and he wouldn't do that either. My boat was in that yard for around 2 years, never saw it move or get touched, just sat there rotting away... sad. There was a bunch of motorhomes doing the same thing

Just pulled historic images on google earth. This boat has been in this yard since at least 2011 and has been partially uncovered with the interior/gel exposed since 2020.
The registration in the picture above is from 2013 so it’s been sitting at least that long probably.

It’s a shame those boats get forgotten about and sit around rotting instead of sold to someone who would use it
