Thats why it sux...it has turned into a salescesspool... 99% of all messages I get in linked are cold sales call... they need to moderate it. Literally have 300-500 people wanting to connect and I just delete most...worse than personal social media......It can be useful when I or my colleagues need to chat...but the noise you have to remove to get use out of it is a big time suck.
I have to admit. I’ve never sent a message on the platform for selling. I’ve only used it to find out who I should be asking for when I drop in or call.

I never message people...I dissect the hierarchy, and occasionally pull cell numbers off when people make the mistake of having them on there... I use the data I find/titles etc...then apply it to other research and create effective contact lists for us to hammer at shows etc... It's amazing the info ppl don't realize its out there about their companies...public or not.
It’s crazy. Our company used to use Twitter. I would look at it every few days. It always ended with me sending screenshots telling people to pull confidential info down. We went to an in house program that only employees can see. Our main competitor still uses LinkedIn. A couple months ago their team posted all their “award winners/top performing everything”.My organization pays for my premium LinkedIn package. I have a profile but never use it. My office calls me weekly asking me to post. The answer is always the same, okay I will. Rinse, Lather & Repeat week after week and still don’t post
