Even under powered with say 525's this would still be a sweet boat. hell, even put some 496HO's in that thing.

Motors are no problem...hell, I'd slap a couple 454's in there and leave the hatch down. Wouldn't be fast, but would get me from Needles to Havasu in pimp style. Then start saving money for a couple tall deck builds.

I'd go to the junkyard and get a couple 8.1l rings and bearings reverse cam and throw them in.

Hell yes it does. On my little 19’ rerig it was a ton of small shit that piled up quick!
