There's other ways to check and see if a wire is hot🤣 but none of those other ways wake you up very well🤣

I ended 24 like that

- Daughter RZR eating oil = rebuild scheduled
- dishwasher broke = replaced with new
- RV rear cap bottom scrapped = fixed
- golf cart brakes stopped working = fixed
- jeep battery died = new battery

Hoping repairs start to slow down.

I wasted almost 2 days leaning about computer case fans, when I realized one of mine had taken a shit.

There are different sizes, different voltage controls, different RGB inputs, wireless sync. They even have USB fans!

And of course all this depends on what motherboard you have, and what software you'll use to control them.

So then I drove to Micro Center, thinking I know enough to ask the right questions, and the place is packed, mid week! 😱

All the sales guys are busy. The "tech guy" behind the tech counter tell me to ask the sales guys. 🤬

WTF! All I wanted was a stupid case fan!!!

I finally catch the store manager, and he pointed me in the right direction about which ones to get.

Phew.

Get home, and find out one of the fans is boxed wrong, and has the wrong extension cables in it!!!

Also found out my case can take a 140mm fan, even though it came with 120mm fans! Doh!!!

I've learned way more than I ever wanted to know, about stupid computer case fans. 🙄

@ 11:45 on New Year’s Eve my sister got routed out of bed to find a wall of flames in her back yard heading towards her house.
The neighbors garage had caught on fire and the flames jumped the wall and caught her business office and garage on fire.
The fire department was able to get it under control before it reached the house but her shed and garage suffered extensive damage.
Not sure what sparked the whole thing off initially but insurance is already taking a defensive posture so we’ll see how this all shakes out.

This was a baby Cummins that dropped a seat. Head was junk. Luckily it was a truck though...much easier to do.

2025 is starting just as 24 ended for us. We are both busting ass trying to turn it around and come out of a tailspin. That gamble i took in feb 24 is still hitting us hard. The only nice thing is 25 can’t get much worse and we are healthy.

People look at me weird when I say I can still get out of bed and punch back.

Tailspins are exciting at least ;) Some things take time to correct the course. At least things are headed forward. A tailspin is better than a free fall I think.

When all else fails, go out into your garage and take a whiff of the fuel, oil and wax. Scents (and odors) can pull your mind out of a funk and to and from a memory.

My new year didn’t start well. Lost a buddy out in Dewey Az. He was headed home and rear ended a car and flipped his trike.☹️

Luckily valve head didnt brake off and cvause that much damage, but same end result
Unfortunately, with pushers the noise is so far back, you can't hear it. With the one I did, they called me up because they blew a trans cooler line. I think they stuck the thing in the mud up to the axle, and reved the hell out of it getting out. I fixed the line, and test drove it to make sure the tranny wasn't hurt. Had a miss, but not banging. Scanner said a cylinder was misfiring, popped the valvecover to check the injector wiring. Found a bunch of broken springs, and called the foreman with the news. No employee mentioned what had to be one hell of a ruckus. A new long block from Freightliner, 3 years ago, was 30k...and this was just a 5.9ISB.

Shut off valve on toilet cracked on seam from casting and it sprayed a fine mist for a long time at our Cabin. Full of mold and 1/4" of standing water on floor.
Mold growing and lots of damage.
bring on 2025!

Used to be fun riding the Metrolink/Amtrack/ Red and Blue lines doing errands.
Stop off at Ikea, Phillipps, a few taverns, the bar car on the train,, but that's over now.

Before the conductors would throw bad people off the train just like in the old movies.
Even the Sheriffs would pull up and roll through and toss or arrest. You could count on it.

No longer.
It ain't safe and it ain't getting better.
Turnstiles don't recognize your ticket Q Code, a train car full of no-fare paying thugs just released from jail.. weird-o's.
Can't carry pepper spray, the metal detectors won't let you in some buildings or some train stations.

Have to drive.

Went to change the oil in my Dodge Cummins truck and the crank case was full of diesel fuel. The injectors are not that old so going to try to find somewhere that will test them before replacing. Good news is the inside of my motor should be cleaned out now from the diesel bath.

Visited the cabin today to check progress on the water clean up from one toilet shut off valve. Servpro has removed the bottom 4 ft of drywall, all of the casing and base, wood paneling, vanity, doors, floors, washer, dryer, base cabinets ect.

Fortunately this is a second home and not or residence, no way to stay in the house.
I really fell so bad for everyone who lost their homes to fires and floods the last 6 months, just feel so defeated and overwhelmed with rebuilding.

This is why we turn off our water at our cabin regardless of what time of year when we are not there . In winter we drain the water before going home . Our cabin has spigots to drain all the hot and cold water lines .
