using their pool this time of year? At 5 am this morning, the outside temp was 34 degrees and the water temp was 49 degrees. Like slipping into a hot tub.

After starting your day by taking a couple laps in a really cold pool, the rest of the day can only be better.
But seriously, since I began doing this at the end of last year I’ve physically felt better. Besides REALLY waking your ass up, it seems to helps with the aches and pains. It’s also a good mental exercise. I began doing it after hearing Adam Carolla talk about it. It’s a poor mans cryotherapy.

51 degrees for my pool in Upland.. Couldn't put my hand in there for more than 1 minute before going into a seizure.... DAMN COLD...
but on a positive note, we had a get together over the weekend and put a whole bunch of 2 liters in the pool to do a quick cool down for cocktails.. Worked like a charm....

Ours in 43* in Havasu
Dang that is cold. I was surprised that Havasu was colder the last couple of day than it is here in SF today.

FWIW......That's about what the water temps are at base of Hoover mid-summer.
.
I would use the jacuzzi if we were in Havasu.

There are definitely some health benefits to what yore doing
I hope so or it’s an exercise in stupidity. Not sure if it’s just in my head, but all my little aches and pain have gone away.

Big part of Navy Seals BUDS and other elite training is done in cold ocean water. Some of that is to reduce swelling, squeeze out lactic acid, and help the body heal from the grueling training. Not everyone catches on to that
