Hold on there a moment! There are millions of good, (fairly) well balanced people who deserve their God given right to self defense and if using a gun to do that, then so be it. Many of the licensing schemes for a CCW are clearly attempts to keep people from having that ability.

In the old movie "Red Dawn", the invasion force went to the local sporting goods store and pulled the hunter registry. It was to identify threats and get the names of people to pickup.

When I was young, I saw that movie and thought that was pretty slick.

As I got older, it's also one of the reasons I would have no "tax stamp" type of items. Not for threat of invasion. I have no guns, I'm dependent on the local LE.
