I check on them all day long, pretty amazing to watch............

After that was posted previously my wife and I sat staring at that for the longest time. Thanks for the update, I'm amazed how fast the chicks are growing --

I bookmarked it on my office computer, its my waiting on hold go to now, that and the London Bridge cam. Mom always stands guard, and dad shows up every so often to drop of a fish for the kids.

My office today. I’m on the other side of the lake than the birds though.

The 9th hole on my golf course has a Hawk nest in one of the trees that's got to be at least 6 feet in diameter.....so cool to see them fly in/out of it and come down to snag a gopher. :D

Here's one from a lake we visited quite often where I grew up in Tennessee.
Wide angle and close up view.

I peek in everyday too, I call them my therapy eagles here at work. Either the Big Bear eagle cam, the Sauces eagle cam or the DC eagle cam. I started with the DC eagle cam, so that is my default but they have yet to lay any eggs yet.

I was in soldatna Alaska fishing the Kenai river back in 95 . There were a lot of bald eagles nest up and down the river. Coolest thing I got to see was an eagle fly down and catch a salmon with his claws and take off. It was awesome . That bird was huge.

We went to alaska a few years back, the things are like pigeons up there, literally watching you eat at restaurants to take your scraps.

check out 2:42, on this link when Mom and Dad show up with breakfast. damn cool.
They eat a lot of fish that I’ve seen, or at least what they’re feeding the young that I have seen.
I saw the male swoop in a couple weeks ago with something brown and hairy but not sure what it was. Looked like he molested it a bit before he brought it home.:D

This mornings breakfast was another bird, kind of freaks you out watching her rip the feathers off and pulling out the red meat.

On occasion while I'm chopping veggies and riling up some vitals for diner I'll stream it on the smart tv for background while I shift into Emiril mode.
Feathers, fir or scales, doesn't bother me. :)

Was sharing this with my wife when she got home from work last evening. We're watching mom eagle trying to get the kids to eat, we're both curious what was on the menu when we both noticed "Oh wow, there's a foot sticking up"

Looks like one of them dead now?
Oh crap, I think you're right. Scanning back that one hasn't moved in quite some time. I noticed last evening only one was eating, I just thought the other was sleeping :(

Looks like only one as of this morning. I wonder if it died and they ate it or it fell out?

Did one of them die?
I only see the one eating and moving around, the other one is lifeless.

One of the little ones died overnight probably of Hypothermia. It's still in the nest.

Noticed one of the eagle chicks wasn't eating yesterday evening. Then didn't make it through the night. It is on the left. Wonder if parents will remove the body from the nest?

Got so interested in this show, I found this --- http://www.iws.org/livecams.html
There's several nesting eagles and a red tail hawk, a couple on Catalina Isl, San Clemente Island, Santa Cruz Island.
When you click on the nest info, it explains some history of the nest and where the eagles came from.
One pair on Catalina Island were raised in the San Francisco zoo and were introduced to Catalina in 1998 !!
Holy Shit, I'm never going to get anything done

Wounder how long before the deceased bird starts to decompose and if/when the parents will push him from the nest.

I was watching the Dale Hollow Lake Eagle cam last year and there were three siblings. The first two born would not let the last born eat after a while and actually killed him and then pushed him from the nest. People were like OMG that was terrible how could they do that to there little sibling...I was like it's nature you idiots, only the strongest survive. Both older ones survived and flew from the nest within days of each other.
There is only one chick this year.

Looks like the deceased chick is still in the nest. One would think they would have rejected it out already.

Someone came up and took the dead one, plus he tagged the other, it happened and 14:00:00 guess he isn't afraid of heights

Went back and watched it...that old man was pretty fearless. You could see the parents doing flybys and at time even see there shadows go by like they were pretty damn close to him.

I read online that they normally dont send humans into the nest because the parents will not go back the next year. Now i have a problem looking at RDP and now youtube eagles nest. My wife even ask me hows the eagles are doing each day. One thing that amazes me is how well they eat.

Wow, that would not be me.

Read that they start hopping straight up 2-3 feet with wings flapping a few days prior to their first actual flight. It was also stated that about 50% of all first flights end on the ground. Wonder if they return and continue to feed from the nest?

Earlier it was flapping its wings like crazy. It’s gotten so big so fast!!
