Haven't seen it in years!! I still remember going out with Havasu Barney and running the piss out of this boat with a 300 on it on a blown out day in Havasu years back.. That was my first real experience in big water with a 21 Daytona, and we were running 90+ the whole time, and on occassion counting seconds of hang time.. :D Pretty impressive what they will do if you stay in the throttle (of course I'm not talking about when the boat is airborne).

There is a high possibility that this boat will be back in action at this years 2016 Parker Enduro!

It was a liberator...

A liberator is a direct splash off a 21 Daytona.. I said Daytona because most west coast guys haven't really heard of Liberator. (Point being the boats do well in some pretty big water if you can keep the speed in them)

It is amazing what some of the "smaller" tunnels and mod VPs will do with a driver that has seat time and experience reading water at the controls.

FWIW, Randy Corson out of FL is still painting and rigging some pretty nice new Liberators(21s and 25s). He gets caught up in the 80s with some of his designs, but looks like some quality craftsmanship.

It's amazing how well my uncle's seabring runs in the rough with a pretty damn bone stock 200 Merc.

So what's the deal with this?
Doing a quick search I see Liberator in Crowley,Texas.
Then, there's this Randy guy south of Daytona,Fl.
Is Randy buying blanks from Texas and building them out?
I also notice he's Lib and Checkmate?
I thought Cooperider here on the boards had the Checkmate molds?I think he's in Ohio?

The deal -

David Adams builds Liberator boats in Crowley Texas. I bought my first 21' from David in 1987.

Randy Corson buys blank hulls from David and does high end paint and rigging. The quality of Randy's work is amazing.

Randy also buys boats from Checkmate along with Talon. He is doing a 22 Talon right now. Go to Scream & Fly where he has a thread on the Talon build.

LT... You are always spot on. More info... 22Talons are being built by Todd Lamb in Ohio. He has the original Talon 22 molds and the rights to build them. Making pretty nice looking stuff, as well as in the middle of redesigning the hatch to make the Talon more modern. These boats are completely separate from what Ultra is doing with their Talon builds.
