Did it sneeze, or had it previously? Sucks ass, but at least it was just getting wet, and not 1000ft on throttle.
It was a little cold and small backfire. The pulley ended up in the front sponson. Did want to warm it up much since and up and back pass with a dry block can be a lot of heat. Weren't even sure how the turnaround would go since it doesn't turn well at the idle a blown alcohol runs at.

My friends number 00 blown alcohol hydro, he runs QE with. Runs 6.0's at 145 in 1000 feet.
So I take it that It is faster than your scooter. 😁 When are you going to stop by our house? Do I need to stalk you? You in town next week Mike?

PITA to pull the broken threads out, but hopefully no other issues.
Really sucks when the crank snout is still attached to the pulley, or the blower drive :(

We think it may be red locktite so probably just put another crank snout on. Easier that way
Had luck with pressure plate bolts by drilling, then heating with a small torch to soften up the loctite. Easy enough to change the snout though if it's an option.

Was the badass little 12' "beiser" w/the ditch pump, BBC and 2 bucket seats there? He was at the circle boat races yesterday w/it showing it off. Beautiful little piece. I asked him if he was going to run comp. jet w/it. He laughed. Apparently the owner, builder, seller worked @ beismeyer back in the day.

It was nuts to butts packed this weekend at the Sundance. Great turn out on boats at the show and shine, and the fast passes were on point. I failed and didn't tank any pictures, or I might have spilled my beer. Living in the moment has its rewards.

Im curious, the circle boat races were just down the road a couple miles @ Blue Water Casino.
Why do so many people seem/appear to be more interested in watching random boats make single passes rather then watch actual boat races where boats are making at least 8 "drag type passes" with turns @ ea. End while competing w/other boats etc.
I'm just genuinely curious.

And for the record.... I'm just jokin w/ y'alls on the ditch pump thang.....i have several of them, 2 in the build process and love them. They're great for what they do and where they can go w/o damage. Carry on....

Hey I went to the races not the nationals for the reasons stated.

However there was only 1 K boat at the races and he never did more than a couple laps, the Nationals is pretty much a lot of old K boats making passes.

If I'd been there on Saturday I would have checked out the Nationals on the way to the races.

It’s mostly the venue why Sundance gets so packed. The vibe, the people and the ability to watch randomly is the draw.

I agree with you and understand where you’re going with your point but when I’m taking my Dad to watch boats and have to choose we end up at Sundance.

I’ll bite:
It’s more fun for me. When the best drag boat racer (and longtime friend) of my generation throws a party I’m going. They are not random boats, they are hand picked by Tony. Some absolutely stunning hardware was there. It’s the one and only time a year I can have beers with many of my hero’s of the sport and a ton of folks I haven’t seen in awhile. I had a blast! I can always catch the next circle race.

All the other years I was running a boat. That’s pretty much all you’re doing. This time I was able to spectate. It was bad ass! I shot tons of video I need to sort through.

There’s jet boats and there’s the few like the one at Outlaws. I’ve seen it run a few times and it’s mind boggling quick.

Thx Dana, I understand and appreciate your reply. I didn't consider the only once a year aspect. I too have enjoyed that event in years past and love to see all the badass hardware that participates. I also enjoyed seeing you run your badass river k in videos and there as well if I recall correctly.

I asked this question to gain as many perspectives from the general population to learn how people feel about the 2 different events, venues etc. The APBA/SCSC racing clubs are always looking to gain more spectatorship and participation. I hope the answers provided here to my inquiry can help to that end.
Thank you for taking the time share your opinion and perspective.

Maybe you can suggest to the SCSC that they let the Outlaw Nationals take place at Bluewater under the protection of a closed course and medical on standby?

They might not like the hit to their insurance for the event but that's for them to figure out.

Also I doubt Sundance would want to see it go, I'm sure its a money maker for the attendance. And maybe Blue water doesn't have the room for the turnout so there's that also. And maybe the attendees would prefer supporting a local business like Sundance over the indians, who knows?

The Outlaw Nationals is perfect just how it is. They do have rescue there. The little bit of river traffic is not a problem. People go because it’s Tony Scarlata’s event. He could have it anywhere and draw a crowd. Sundance is a big plus for sure. What a great place for it. Bar is like a grandstand for viewing with all the different levels.

Some people show off.
Others actually race boats, rudder and all.
Ya know where I'll be.
