I'm sure I'm behind the curve on this, but does anyone know who this guy is? My SiL spent some time with him last week end and he NEVER took off his gear.

No, pretty sure james Lin was running NOT funding but I read:blah: he is out, he was the driver of the second truck..... yes there are 2 brand new trucks (Built By E&S) read the race dezert thread where Robby Gordon says they are illegal copies of his truck that was wired by James

from Robby on RDC: "James has been my electrical technician for many years and has been all over my truck with a Cameras and tape measures for the wiring harnesses ect, also has attended many Dakar Rally's on our team and Johnny Miller was the crew Cheif on my TT, Bharrat and Johnny Miller have worked on the TT77 for years I'm confident that they have confidentiality agreements with my company and this is a conflict if interest to say the least, time will tell.

Pretty sure pick up points and many carbon panels will fit from the 77 TT to these two trucks."

It's not difficult to find out who he is. His name is in the rdz post a few times. Just don't go around posting it more and more.

These guys were behind us last year at Tech for the 1000 and they seemed like pretty good guys. I didn't talk to them much but the trucks did look bad ass and they seemed to have their shit together. Good on them for supporting local schools and that video was pretty cool.

My sister in law was on the course where his truck broke. She sat with him for a long time and he never even took off his helmet in the heat. Said he was a very nice guy, talkin and takin pics with the locals. Did a lot of charity and seemed a good rep for the sport.

He is apparently heir to a HUGE fortune and dynasty that everyone would be familiar with. Don't know if it's true and I won't say who he supposedly is, but he's got more money than Davy Crockett and does some very cool things for the kids in Mexico. Some folks are skeptical of his approach, but anyone who can make a real difference for those kids is cool in my book. A couple guys on our team played a little prank on him in the way of sticker bombing his visor which subsequently turned into a Gretchen Rossi sized drama feeding frenzy over on RDC. Sometimes the Mills boys play a little rough :D

What I saw of the guy I was impressed with. Regardless of who his is in real life, his masked persona is humble and quite generous with his time and money. The fans absolutely lose their minds over this dude. During the race, around race mile 70, Acer broke a spindle. The locals mobbed his truck and, though his race was in the gutter, he took time to talk to every local there and take pictures with all of them... Then the locals helped him get his truck to the next pit. :thumbsup:thumbsup

I think that's where my SiL was. After watching him for a long time he came over and sat on the wall with her. She offered him some water and still wouldn't go for it. She was not aware of his "persona" and was not trying to bait him into a reveal. The reason I posted this over here instead of trying to weed through all the stuff on race dez, is people here seem to cut to the chase, with out 30 pages of speculation.
