I have never seen a helicopter tied down. Light airplanes are tied down because they'll easily fly with enough wind.

What do they do with helicopters and airplanes on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier? How do they secure them.

Mobile Home codes are pretty strict with securing them to the ground so they don't fly. You would think in a storm with 110 mph winds... Get Woke go broke.

They don't even care. We pay for all if it.

I've only ever seen them tied down in shipment. To be honest though, I've rarely seen military stuff on the ground. The military has rules and regulations for everything it seems though. If they didn't have a specific weather protocol, they probably will.

It is odd though, going to the wokeness angle, the base's statement that there was "no environmental impact". Really? I can't think anyone was worried about spilled jet A when they saw the pics.

When I was stationed at Ft. Hood, we had Kiowas and Cobras. We had weather events often and we would put everything we could inside the hangars and the aircraft left outside had their rotor blades secured with tie downs. If a tornado rips through the airfield there is not much else you can do.

These aircraft weren't on a ship.

I'm close to Patrick Space Force Base. Not a lot of hardware here, but helicopters are all inside unless being used. The C-130's are outside. If there is a Hurricanes coming they are flown to another base.

Yeah exactly, if you have a tornado vs outdoor aircraft, there ain't shit you are gonna do about it.

At little airports, they secure planes to the ground for wind. I would think these guys had the same ability. Someone's in big trouble I'd think? Some major damages to some expensive equipment.
I went through a couple monsoons in the Philippines and Okinawa! Never lost a bird. Cobra’s placed stub wing to stub wing 2 inches apart, Blades tied down. they weren’t light weight storms either!
after a Quick Look at them pics, they didn’t look very well secured!
