Looking to thumb a boat ride on either or both lakes to check them out!

We are at the beyond hope campground on Pend right now.. the pontoon boats only have a 50 on them so I don’t think we’d see much. :/.

Once you get out of SoCal, AZ and FL, most folks use a pontoon to relax and booze cruise dock to dock.

The pontoon we had at the family cabin had a 25hp on it. Happy hour started at 5 and usually took 3-4 hours before we returned home after all the stops

@Hoodoo is up on pend orielle right now.

Probably one of the most beautiful lakes I’ve ever been on. 25’ visibility to the bottom. Forrest lined shoreline….insane. Love it up there.

By the way, you’re 3 miles from our property at trestle creek.

If all goes well, I'll be there in a few days.

But just in case you don't catch a ride, here is the vid I made last summer.

It really is a beautiful lake as long as you keep your eye out for floating logs lol. So many of us think havasu is great until you experience some of these other lakes the U.S. has to offer. Although the water is to cold for me no matter what time of it is. We go up for a week every summer. My wife’s grandparents have a house on Pend. If you haven’t been I encourage everyone to go. Here are some pics from our trip last week.

Hi Dave you are in my backyard. I wish I didn’t just sell the Daytona or I would give ya a tour of both. Bitchen lakes. Hope you get to experience both. They both have a very different feel and different crowd.

I remember @ 13 moving from Baton Rouge La, to just north of Hayden Lake, jumping into lake Coeur d'Alene in July, that was some of the coldest water I had ever been into in my life at that point (lake Tahoe a few years later was mild compared), Lake Pend Oreille was no different. But I would say the best fresh water fishing in my life was Louisiana and Idaho, those places will spoil you for fishing. Love Northern Idaho, but good luck making a living after the snow falls if your in the trades.

I believe the Legend of the Monarchs run is tomorrow.

I think it’s canceled this year but they did or are doing a little fun run with locals.

I have spent a bunch of time on both. We choose Pend Oreille for our home for a bunch of reasons. Bigger lake, more to do, really great water quality, plenty of dining, and things to do. But downside of Pend vs CDA is 8 months a year Pend in drawn down 11 feet and virtually every dock is unusable. CDA has a longer season, if the weather is good.

As far as rides, we are up for the weekend and have been bopping around, hit the sandbar and Sandpoint this afternoon and are doing the fun run tomorrow. A tour could be arranged. We also have RV parking at the house with water and power hookups, north on Kootenai Bay

We all had a good time. Turnout was small but the crew was good. Had a couple fast boats, a couple slow boats, and a couple in between 😂. Crew started at Dover Idaho, whole crew swung down to Beyond Hope and picked up Dave, then ran down to Bayview giving the tour. Everyone stopped for a drink and a snack and some supplies, before we headed back north to the trestle creek area to hit the sandbar for a couple hours. Got waterlogged, ate some snacks and drank some beverages, then split up and headed home.

Since there seems to be some serious hardware up there, are there capable mechanics shops up there to deal with maintenance on the variety of performance engines and drives?

Awesome!!! More pics!!
Dave took a bunch, I was pretty busy as somehow I ended up wrangling the event.

There is a performance boat shop in Spokane Valley. I personally did not have a great experience with their work on my BBC. I think for drives and Mercury product they would be fine. But it seems like good mechanics are hard to find anywhere.

Not a ton to share. It's a one off, all aluminum hull. 28 feet long, designed by outlaw out of Canada and built in Spokane in 2005. Been through a lot of different configurations over the years, but right now it has a Merlin 588 and American turbine SD-12 pump. View attachment 1405513

Very cool boat! Love the lines.

Is it aluminum because of floating debris in the lakes there? Or was it done for weight?

Outlaw Eagle builds aluminum jet boats and comes from a whitewater racing background. They have some badass whitewater boats.

I was on a flight from Seattle to Anchorage and sat next to the owners of Woolridge Boats (3rd and 4th generation Father and Son) they had nothing but good to say about Outlaw Eagle. I like when a builder doesn't trash other builders.

I can’t find that 28’ on their site. Is it a custom one off?

One of. It was manufactured for Innovate, as the 000 (triple aught). As far as I can tell it was the only boat ever made by that company. Has a full step hull, is actually quite lightweight. Was also originally configured with an inboard stern drive.

It does have great line for sure. Around here, early season there is a lot of log debris in the lakes a rivers. It great not to have to worry about dinging something, and I can beach it nice and hard on rocky beaches.
