So we’re thinking about selling our house in Santa Clarita and moving to Havasu. We’ve had enough of the California stupidity. My wife goes to the gym 6 days a week so she’s concerned that there aren’t any good gyms there. We know about the one on McCollough, but never been inside.

Anyone know if there’s good ones there? The one she goes to now is boogie and is $120 a month.

Anytime Fitness is $35/month. My kids have been members for 5 years. I go when in town. Two level building, Noel is the manger, good guy. Can be busy, clean, good equipment, good people.
You have the big box of Planet Fitness, not for me
Titan Gym on the south side is good but small and $45/month, short hours on Saturday, closed on Sundays
Iron age, don't know anything about this one.
A couple of cross fits in town

Havasu could use another gym.

Personally, I’d build my own gym in the new house/garage. If she prefers a trainer, our neighbor does a kick boxing class in town. Heard it’s really good. Haven’t been but I’ll send the contact if you want.

PF is fine for doing what you need to do, I've been there a lot and it's never busy.

I think the Lunk alarm would go off when I walked in the door.
I have never seen the Lunk alarm go off in a PF. Has it ever?

I really liked PF for the training classes they had pre-Covid. Have they come back? They haven’t at the PF I go to, but maybe they have elsewhere.

Honestly I’ve never been in one. I’ve heard they’re mostly machines. Not even sure if they have bench presses.
Free weights are in the front. Yes, they have them. Yes, it has a lot of machines. Everything seems in good working order and about what you would expect for $10.00 a month. It seems clean, the temp is always about right, and it is not overly crowded. I've not figured out the app for the TVs, but It is not an issue. Hours work for me.

When we were kids, we went to a place like that in DTLA.

Would start with the lightest weight, and do 10 reps with the next one up.

When you couldn't do anymore, then you had to do the same thing going back down.

My buddy Marco stood over us to make sure we did Every rep. I remember being not able to move my arm when we were all done!

Good times. 🤣

I know they don’t have these there.

Cool Flex Bro; No, they don't. It's $10 a month. It is a gym for people who need to go to the gym, and I'm pretty OK with that. Cool, good-looking people can pay more and go to cool guy gyms.

Edit: I really wish we had the smiley flip-off guy icon from Pirate4x4 when I talk shit. It makes it more obvious and I don't have to worry about getting jumped walking out of PF by some gym rats from guido powerhouse. Skinny guy problems.

My only complaint about PF is there is no open area for stretching/floorwork. Otherwise, it works fine for me. I preferred the home gym I had at the house in Reno, with my picture of Sarah Connor for inspiration and a TV with what I wanted to watch. But for $10/month, I don't think it can be beat. Plus, they let us pause the membership for six months of the year. I haven't seen any higher-end gyms, though there are a couple of cross-fit gyms around town.

My choice is Anytime Fitness when I'm in town. It has enough equipment that I can make do.

I got a bit spoiled with gyms after traveling around the world.. Most American gyms suck since they are corporate owned or are trying to win the race to the bottom on price.

A great gym in Havasu would make a lot of people happy. I'm sure one is coming eventually.
