Any CNC router users here?

I just ordered a Shapeoko 5 pro router
Planning on learning Carbide Create for software, or is there a better system?

I have a shaepoko xxl.

I have had it for like 5 years but i don't think i have used it for the past 3. (granted it was in storage while the new house was being built for years)

Pretty cool but im not great with designing stuff on the computer. I would used it more if it didn't frustrate me.

Definitely look into a dust collection system and a attachment from etsy that mounts to the spindle it helps a ton with dust.

also look at youtube for sound cabinet ideas they are loud.

Haven't got a router but I do have a plasma cam. Use it a fair amount. I am more into metal shavings than sawdust.

I have a Morbidelli 4x8 nested panel router and a 5x12 SCM Pratix nested router.
Morbidelli is 10 years old and Pratix is 12 years old, both still running strong but will be auctioning them off in September after our new machines are in. I’m guessing they’ll each fetch between $15-30k. We’ll see.

@JFMFG New product idea using that type of material. Residential Sprinkler valve enclosures that piece together jigsaw puzzle style/tabs. (I have just wanted an enclosure to hide mine and too lazy to actually do it) lol

The issue with it is even with bracing the sun will always warp it slightly with something like that. We buy the structural grade material from our supplier and our normal products we have down to a science to eliminate those problems but anything that can be taken apart to interlock overtime won’t fit eventually lol.

I used to have a 4'x4' router table, but sold that years back needing more room in my garage
