So,
I put my shit turd in the water.
Fixed some problems and now found some others!!!

New problem:
My carbs need some fine tuning.

At idle and left alone (in the water and on the trailer) if want s to sputter out.

I adjusted the idle screws a bit. It now seems to idle "ok" (back in the garage)
But
Now when you give it a quick stab of the throttle,
It "stumbles" a bit when getting back to normal idle.

If any double carb experts want to come by, give a second opinion on what you hear.
I'm in the houses across fron Bashas.

I would be more than happy to feed you drinks for your troubles.
Hell, you can flirt my ol' lady too.
(Whatever gets the job done man!! 😁)

Please PM me and I'll flip you my addy if interested.

Thank you FT

In a prior post you said it has sat for awhile? Did it run fine the last time? You might just be fighting crap in the fuel system.

I had to edit. I forgot to give you my qualifications. Just got a new pair of Jean shorts and shined up my NB shoes.

Do you wear those NB’s with white crew socks? If so, You’re hired! 😂

It was sitting for 2 years.
During that time the carbs and gas tank were empty.

Before the trip:
The motor was pulled.
Inducer, added to the pump.
New mechanical fuel pump added.

It ran fine for 30 sec at the shop when I picked it up last October
But this is the first time in the water since all that was done.

Photos of the old lady?

Seriously its a bit far for me to run up there and mess with it, I would look at my place here in Parker.

Check float levels first, and if you have been messing with idle air bleed screws you probably need to count how many turns out they are and make notes of where you are now. Basic static setting is usually 1 1/2 turns out.

Sitting 2 years, stumbles coming of idle.
Good chance the accelerator pumps need replacing.
Also inspect the check valve under the squirters to be sure they are not stuck in the seat.
Pull the scoop and hand pump each squirter to be sure.

I'll check what I can.
But this blower carb shit is a little outta my league.
And
Ya, I think it may be time to rebuild and retune.

I have used this money pit, 3 times in about 6 yrs.
Life just gets in the way evert damn summer!

Take the Toon in the background out…that animal ain't going no where unless its over half throttle and most likely bleeding fuel into the bilge or worse . Dual carb blower motor dry for two years? Good lord. If you are messing around with idle screws and don't know what you are doing then just stop before ya blow yourself up.

Those carbs need to be broke down…new gaskets, accelerator pumps, power valves, float valves and idle tune done properly ON THE LAKE. Blower surge is for show…it can be tuned in or out.

if carbs have been sitting for any amount of time, easiest start is to rebuild w basic rebuild. keep track of screw adjustments etc . basically take apart, clean out, and re-start. make sure mains etc are all clean.

You can bring it down to Parker and I will see what I can do. I am driving for ski lessons for Chris O at 9AM, so either before or after.

Thank you Sir, for the offer.
I was "over" boating for the weekend.
But I do appreciate it.

Thanks again.
