Really good show, seemed like a good dude. Turns out he had a few demons. He got into Jiu Jitsu late in life. Remarried to a high level competitor. Seemed like he turned his life around.

I know. That's what everyone says.

Never heard of him before I started watching this show.

School me...
Highlights, as I recall, started washing dishes at restaurants in NYC, may or may not have done an internship at a restaurant in Paris, got hooked on heroin in NYC, became a very good chef.

Wrote a book, something like Chef Confidential. Reality TV producers from CNN thought he would make a good TV show.

Did the show. Became a star. Divorced his wife. Started dating some tart from Italy. She cheated on him. You know the finale.

I will watch his show anytime it's on. It's really good. He goes all around the world and tries some crazy dishes. He had a Cobra snake once somewhere in Asia. He gets drunk on all his shows too. Really entertaining.

You can stream every episode on Discovery+, anytime.

I watch it every day while I eat lunch.

Read his book. It's the most accurate and descriptive account of what life in the restaurant world is like. I was in the business for 30 plus years. His book was required reading for our staff.

He covers the intense passion that is required and the dire aberrations that come with it.

Great travel shows. Great host and presenter. Shows mostly non tourist areas and the true local lifestyles, good or bad.

No Reservations channel popped up on my Amazon Prime TV list the other day. Kept me up past midnight watching the old ones and kept them on all day the following Saturday.

What fucking rock have you been living under for the past two decades LOL

Cliff notes version is dude was a fuck up back of house type of guy. Typical outcast kitchen staff who is happy and better off to be away from the public in a food joint.

Wrote a book and found overnight success, and massive spotlight, went on to have the greatest job ever traveling the world and eating food with people while discovering their culture. He’s a bit moody and dark, I think that was the appeal, just a regular dude who was kind of a dick cruising around doing cool shit and being real about it.

Amazon prime has a live tv section and his shows are on 24/7. Fortunately for you there is years of content you've never seen before, enjoy. The early stuff is lower production value as it was shoe string budget, later stuff was all the bells and whistles of prime time syndication.

At a certain point I guess when you’ve been everywhere and done everything it’s time to check out, to each his own on that program. I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to get old and end up shitting themselves again🤷‍♂️

Anthony was real entertaining, I really enjoyed his sarcasm and dark humor on his shows. Lots of strange things around his death. his girlfriend was one of the underage ladies on Epstein Island long before and rumor goes he knew some things that he wanted to make public and somehow he became suicided.

His show with queens of the Stone Age, Josh home, in the Palm Desert area was one of my favorites.

He was going to expose a lot of sex trafficking underworld. He was killed before he could run his mouth. Being an ex drug addict It was the perfect death. But if you go on Snopes, it says it was false.😂 If the fact checkers say it’s false, it means it’s true. Just saying.🤷‍♂️

This is the first time I've heard that rumor. Love his show and have read his books, it was a sad day when he died. Just this weekend I had an itch for his show and pulled up a couple of episodes and settled in for the afternoon.

No Reservations was a show about people at its heart. In that vein he is like Warren Miller. That's what made him great, and he didn't judge, he just wanted to sit, talk, drink and eat with interesting people, and he did. His episode on Tehran is one of the best.

"The second sons are always the fuck ups, they become the chefs and the artists"

"Don't order the fish on Monday"

I recall an episode in which he visited a hash maker, in the Middle East if I recall. The guy made a ball of hash that was almost bowling ball size. It was amazing. 😍

Best episodes for me are

1 Austin when he hangs with a band I like called The Sword

2 when hangs with Queens of the Stone Age

3 when he goes to West Virginia and realizes that the simple life ain’t so bad and what you see on TV about the state of the US and the fact that there’s a shit ton of people that don’t actually buy into the Hollywood BS.

I went to all of his movies. Was so awesome when he was standing their narrating in person!!! Was always a great start to the ski season.

His lead camera man was my neighbor in 92ish. Would always hook me up with premier tickets. I did odd jobs for him in high school. Offered me a job for after graduation with the film crew. Could have traveled and skied all over the world at 18. Stupid me was to busy chasing my hot ass high school girlfriend around, partying, and declined.

Turning him down was one of my biggest regrets in life.

I have never heard one person in my life mention The Sword.

"Knock knock.... Have you accepted Jesus in your life"

"Who's Jesus?"

I am not lying and this is 100% the truth.....

I started seeing this girl years ago and it was around Xmas time and we were driving thru a neighborhood where there were multiple signs that said "Happy Birthday Jesus" She asked me who Heysus was..... I was like WTF.....haha We didn't stay together long but she was fun while it lasted :)
